Chinese giant Xiaomi introduced a new television, the Redmi TV X 2026, to its domestic market, which is the first in the Redmi series to feature advanced Mini LED technology. For a price of 4,800 yuan, which translates to just under 14 thousand Czech crowns, customers receive an 85″ panel with impressive parameters that compete with significantly more expensive models. Smaller sizes have not yet been introduced. According to the manufacturer’s usual practice, the new product could reach global markets early next year, most likely under a different designation.

Mini LED panel with 640 dimming zones

At the heart of the new television is an 85″ Mini LED panel with 4K resolution (3840 × 2160 pixels), featuring 640 independent dimming zones. This allows it to precisely control brightness in individual parts of the image and achieve a peak brightness of 1200 nits while maintaining a minimum black level of 0.0001 nits. The dynamic contrast ratio thus reaches an impressive 12,000,000:1.

Compared to many competing models, both the number of zones and the maximum brightness are rather lower, but it is necessary to take into account that the new Redmi TV targets less demanding users who want to enjoy the image on a Mini LED panel without spending too much money.

The television also newly includes a light sensor with color temperature detection, which automatically adjusts brightness and color reproduction to the ambient lighting. For film enthusiasts, a Filmmaker Mode is available, which disables all image enhancements and displays content exactly as intended by the creators. The panel covers 94% of the DCI-P3 color space with a color accuracy of ΔE≈2.

Gaming features with 288Hz refresh rate

The Redmi TV X 2026 also targets gamers thanks to a native 144Hz refresh rate at 4K resolution. In a special gaming mode, 288Hz can even be activated at 2560 × 1440 pixels resolution. The television has received AMD FreeSync Premium certification with a response time of just 4 ms and supports VRR (variable refresh rate) and Dolby Vision Gaming technologies.

For various gaming genres, the TV offers preset profiles within the Game Mode function. Support for HDR10+ and classic Dolby Vision for movie content is also included.

Powerful hardware and modern connectivity

Under the hood, a quad-core MediaTek MT9655 processor with Cortex-A73 cores works, complemented by 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. The television runs on the latest HyperOS 3 system with an improved user interface and voice assistant support.

Connectivity features include two full-fledged HDMI 2.1 ports with eARC support, a USB 3.0 port, an S/PDIF optical output, and an Ethernet port. Wireless connectivity is provided by Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The sound system consists of two 15W speakers with a total output of 30 W.

Price and availability

The Redmi TV X 2026 is currently available only in 85″ size on the Chinese market for a price of 4,800 yuan (about 14 thousand CZK without tax). Xiaomi has not yet released official information about availability outside of China, but theoretically, the TV could arrive here under a different designation.
