Ambilight is a feature for which people buy Philips TVs. LED strips on the back project the colors of the image onto the wall behind the TV, which visually enlarges the picture and draws the viewer into the action. Philips 75PUS9010 offers three-sided Ambilight in combination with a 75″ QLED panel – and now with a discount of over eight thousand crowns.

QLED with Philips P5 engine

Quantum Dot technology ensures more vibrant colors and deeper blacks than conventional LED panels. The Philips P5 image processor optimizes every frame – adjusting contrast, colors, and motion sharpness. 4K UHD resolution and support for both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision mean that modern streaming content looks as it should.

A refresh rate of 100/120 Hz is sufficient for smooth viewing of sports and movies. For gamers, there’s a gaming mode with 144 Hz, HDMI 2.1, and FreeSync support for tear-free gaming.

Titan OS instead of Android

For this series, Philips opted for its own operating system, Titan OS. This has its advantages and disadvantages. On one hand, a faster and clearer interface; on the other, a smaller selection of applications than with Android TV. Major streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, and HBO Max are available, but some less common applications might be missing. Even Vodafone TV is reportedly absent.

The TV supports voice control via Alexa directly from the remote control and is compatible with Google Assistant and Apple AirPlay. Thanks to the Matter protocol, it can be easily integrated into a smart home.

Above-average sound

The built-in speakers with 40 W output and support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X are decent for a TV. They are sufficient for regular viewing, but for a cinematic experience, you’ll still want a soundbar. DTS Play-Fi support allows connection with wireless speakers for multi-channel sound.

The original price was 32,990 CZK, and now with code ALZADNY25, it costs 24,743 CZK. For a 75″ QLED with Ambilight, 144Hz gaming mode, and Dolby Vision, this is an attractive price. Similarly equipped TVs from competitors cost comparably or more – and none of them offer Ambilight. If this feature is essential for you, Philips is the only choice.

Have you ever tried a TV with Ambilight? What was your experience?
