Google Gemini now works better with Calendar. These improvements will be appreciated by every more active user

Anyone who uses Google Calendar more intensively knows that one primary calendar is often not enough. Whether it’s a shared family calendar, work schedule, or personal projects, until now, it was necessary to manage them manually. Google has now announced that the AI assistant Gemini finally gains access to all your calendars, not just the main one.

What Gemini can do now

The update brings three key capabilities. Firstly, when asked about your schedule, Gemini automatically searches all calendars, including shared ones. Secondly, you can ask the assistant to create an event directly on a specific calendar – just specify where the event should be added. Thirdly, Gemini can edit and delete events on any calendar for which you have editing permissions.

In practice, you can, for example, ask „What do I have in the family calendar this weekend?” or „Move shopping in the shared calendar to Friday at 5:00 PM”. Gemini can also handle queries like „Find my training plan for this week” and search all relevant calendars at once.

What we’re still waiting for

Despite the expanded capabilities, some limitations persist. Gemini still cannot add or invite participants to events. Similarly, it is not possible to edit the location or description of an existing event through the assistant. For these tasks, you will still need to use the classic Google Calendar interface.
