Google Photos gets an absolutely brilliant feature! Even your grandma can now edit photos Home News Google Photos gets conversational AI editing - just describe what you want to change The feature uses Gemini and is coming first to Pixel 10 in the USA New C2PA standard ensures transparency for AI-edited photos Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Published: 20. 8. 2025 22:30 Advertisement Google Photos is getting a major new feature that could change the way we edit photos. Along with the introduction of Pixel 10 phones, a feature that was speculated about as early as August is coming – conversational editing using artificial intelligence. For now, it’s exclusive to new Pixel owners in the USA. The principle is brilliantly simple: instead of clicking through menus and moving sliders, you simply type or dictate what you want to do with the photo. For example, “remove cars in the background” or “fix those faded colors and remove reflections.” Gemini will understand what you want, and the changes will appear in seconds. No More Searching for the Right Tool The biggest advantage? You don’t need to know which tool to use. While until now you had to think about whether you needed Magic Eraser, lighting enhancements, or something else, now you simply describe the desired outcome. The AI will choose the right tools itself and combine them. Google provides interesting examples of use. You can enter one specific request like “remove cars in the background,” or something more general like “restore this old photo.” You can even combine multiple edits at once: “remove reflections and fix faded colors.” And if you don’t know where to start at all? Just type “enhance it” and the AI will do what it deems appropriate. After the initial edit, you can continue the conversation and fine-tune the result with further instructions. It works like a chat – you gradually adjust the photo exactly to your liking. From Fixes to Creativity The possibilities are not limited to basic fixes. You can change backgrounds, add objects like party hats or sunglasses, essentially anything you can think of. Google presents this as an open creative platform – the only limit is your imagination and Gemini’s capabilities. Conversational editing is another step towards making photo editing accessible to everyone, regardless of technical knowledge. Transparency Thanks to C2PA With powerful AI tools also comes the question of photo trustworthiness. Google is therefore implementing the industry standard C2PA Content Credentials. Pixel 10 will be the first phone to add these certificates directly when taking photos – whether it’s a regular photo or an AI-edited image. In Google Photos, you will then see information about how the photo was created or edited. In addition to C2PA, support for IPTC metadata for AI-edited photos and SynthID for images modified by the Reimagine feature remains. Transparency will first appear on Pixel 10, then expand to all Android and iOS devices in the coming weeks. KOUPIT PIXEL 10 NA ALZA.CZ When Can We Expect It in the Czech Republic? Conversational editing is currently heading only to Pixel 10 in the USA. Google traditionally tests new features first in its home market and on its own phones. Given that the feature requires advanced language capabilities from Gemini, it may take some time before it becomes available in Czech, even though Gemini itself has been functioning in our language for a relatively long time.
