For many months, it was speculated that Google was secretly preparing a new platform that would compete with traditional notebooks while heavily relying on artificial intelligence. In May, the company officially confirmed it, and now it is known when Googlebooks with an intelligent cursor, a light bar on the lid, and Gemini integration will be presented live for the first time. This will happen on September 15.

What’s planned for the Googlebook event?

According to the program published by Chrome Unboxed (which received the invitation), it will be a full-fledged hardware show. An introductory presentation by Google’s leadership, which will officially introduce the new platform, is expected, along with manufacturer booths where journalists will get their first hands-on experience with the initial wave of devices from partners like Asus, HP, and Lenovo.

Googlebooks are expected to run on the Aluminium OS system built on Android 17, which aims to combine the web-friendliness of ChromeOS with Android applications and core. The so-called glowbar – a light LED strip on the lid, previously referred to as Pixel Glow – will also catch the eye. The main role is to be played by Gemini artificial intelligence, around which Google is building the entire platform.

Will we see Googlebooks on September 15?

Unfortunately, the expectations of Google fans need to be tempered a bit. This will not be a live-streamed presentation, but a closed preview for media only. A Google spokesperson also clarified to Android Police that specific details will not be shared with the public on September 15.

Are you looking forward to Google finally showing its Googlebooks to the public?
