On a desk, you usually find a laptop adapter, another for a phone, a cable for a watch and headphones – and the extension cord under the desk slowly turns into a nest of cables. Even more annoying can be constantly pulling chargers from this extension cord up onto the desk. The new AlzaPower Ultimate X720, which Alza sells for 1,699 CZK, aims to help with these problems. One flat block with six ports and an output of up to 200 W will replace most chargers currently lying around the monitor.

Quick summary:
✅ Suitable for: a desk where you want to charge a USB-C laptop, phone, tablet, watch, and headphones from one place.
⚠️ Keep in mind: USB-C cables are not included in the package, and charging will briefly interrupt when another device is connected.
💡 For 1,699 CZK you get five USB-C ports, each capable of up to 100 W independently.

It will be great on the desk next to the monitor

Unlike conventional chargers, the X720 doesn’t hang directly from the wall. It’s a square block measuring 90 × 90 × 29 mm, which you connect to the outlet with a one-meter power cable from the package. In practice, you’ll place it next to your monitor or laptop and run the cable down to an extension cord – the ports are always at hand, and you don’t have to crawl under the desk for every device.

At 359 grams, it’s not the lightest item for a backpack, but on a desk, you’ll appreciate it more: it won’t easily move under the pull of cables. The charging status is monitored by an LED indicator, and thanks to GaN technology, Alza states that the charger should heat up less than classic silicon adapters with similar performance.

How many devices can it power simultaneously?

You can connect up to six devices simultaneously. Each of the five USB-C ports can independently handle up to 100 W via Power Delivery 3.0, which is sufficient even for more powerful work laptops. PPS support is useful for phones like Samsung Galaxy, which rely on it for their fast charging, and Quick Charge 4.0+ or Huawei protocols are also present. The single USB-A port can then be used for older cables, typically for watches or fitness trackers.

However, the full 200 W is divided. When all ports are occupied, according to the manufacturer’s table, the first USB-C port retains 65 W, and the others receive less. Therefore, connect your laptop to this port – 65 W is sufficient for a typical ultrabook for work, and power redistribution is handled by the Smart IC chip, which recognizes connected devices.

In the box, you’ll only find the power cable for the mains; you’ll need to provide your own USB-C cables. For a laptop, it’s worth opting for a cable rated for 100 W – for example, the flat AluCore Flat Magnetic, which we recently wrote about.

Safety features are included

Alza itself warns that charging will briefly interrupt when a device is connected or disconnected, as the charger redistributes power.

Safety is handled by a set of 4Safe protections against overload, short circuit, overheating, and overvoltage, and a body made of non-flammable material according to UL94 standard. The 100–240 V input also allows you to take the charger on business trips abroad, with the appropriate adapter.

Price and availability

The AlzaPower Ultimate X720 is in stock in black and costs 1,699 CZK. Alza provides a 36-month warranty for it. According to the store, over 200 units have already been sold, but customer reviews are still missing, so the first practical experiences are yet to come.

It makes the most sense for someone who has a USB-C laptop and several smaller devices on their desk and wants to have them all in one place. Those who only charge a laptop and a phone can get by with a smaller two-port charger for a fraction of the price.
