Great for every kitchen: Xiaomi's new air fryer has two tiers and connects to your phone

Xiaomi is expanding its range of smart kitchen appliances with an unconventional air fryer, the Smart Double Stack Air Fryer 12L. This new product primarily stands out from the competition with its vertical arrangement of two baskets, which saves counter space while allowing for the preparation of a complete family meal. Thanks to connection with the Xiaomi Home mobile app, you also gain access to cloud recipes and the ability to schedule cooking in advance.

Two baskets stacked instead of side-by-side

While most dual-zone air fryers place baskets side-by-side, Xiaomi opted for a vertical arrangement. According to the manufacturer, this saves 35% of countertop space compared to the Xiaomi Dual Zone Air Fryer 10L model. The total capacity of 12 liters, divided between the upper and lower baskets, can accommodate, for example, a whole chicken, a kilogram of fries, or up to ten chicken drumsticks.

Each basket also has its own rack, so you can simultaneously prepare up to four different dishes – for example, steak with a side dish in the upper basket and vegetables with bread in the lower one. Thanks to its 2800 W power and 360° hot air circulation, the air fryer is 71% more efficient than a conventional oven, according to Xiaomi.

Smart features for convenient cooking

Once connected to the Xiaomi Home app, the air fryer transforms into a smart cooking assistant. In the cloud, you’ll find over 100 recipes divided into categories, which automatically set the correct temperature and time. There’s also 24-hour scheduling – you can program the air fryer to start cooking at a specified time and keep food warm for an additional 30 minutes.

An interesting feature is the drying mode, which removes residual moisture from the interior after cooking and prevents bacterial growth. The air fryer also notifies you with sound and light signals when the food needs to be turned, so you don’t have to monitor every step of preparation.

Basket synchronization for simultaneous completion

A practical feature is the synchronization of both baskets. If you’re cooking the same food on both tiers, you only need to set the temperature and time once. For preparing different dishes, use the SYNC button – set each basket separately, and the air fryer will ensure both are ready simultaneously. This is especially useful, for example, when preparing Sunday lunch, when you want both the meat and side dishes to be ready at the same time.

Control is made easy by a color HD display, which clearly shows the status of both baskets. There are also 14 preset programs for common dishes such as fries, steak, vegetables, pizza, or cake. The temperature range of 40–230 °C allows not only for frying and baking but also for dough proofing at 40 °C or fruit drying at 60 °C.

Who is the double-stack air fryer suitable for?

The Xiaomi Smart Double Stack Air Fryer 12L will primarily find use in multi-person households, where the ability to prepare a complete meal at once will be appreciated. The vertical design will appeal to owners of smaller kitchens who lack space for a wide dual-zone air fryer.

The device will also delight kitchen experimenters thanks to cloud recipes and a wide temperature range. The non-stick surface with food-contact certification and the option to wash accessories in the dishwasher will be appreciated by those who don’t want to spend time cleaning. Furthermore, the removable baskets automatically power off when opened, which increases safety when adding ingredients.

Xiaomi has not yet announced the price or availability of the Smart Double Stack Air Fryer 12L in global markets. Given that the new product has appeared on the manufacturer’s international website, its arrival on store shelves can be expected in the coming months.
