The Razer Huntsman Mini is now available for 2,099 CZK with code ALZADNY30, which for a 60% keyboard with optical switches is a price that makes sense even for people who just wanted to try out how it feels to play on such a small keyboard.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you play competitive shooters and want more mouse space.
⚠️ Consider if you also type a lot on the keyboard – the US INTL layout doesn’t have Czech diacritics, and you handle arrows via Fn.
💡 For 2,099 CZK, you get optical switches, aluminum, and Chroma RGB – a combination that usually starts higher with Razer.

Why gamers love optical switches

Instead of a classic mechanical contact, Razer Red optical switches use a light beam that is interrupted when a key is pressed. The actuation distance is 1 mm and the force required to press is 40 g – in practice, this means faster response and less finger fatigue during several hours of gaming. The switches are also quieter than classic mechanical ones thanks to integrated sound dampeners. Razer states a lifespan of 100 million clicks, which is roughly 8–10 years with intensive gaming.

The 60% format means omitted F-keys, arrow keys, and the numeric pad – but everything is accessible via Fn combinations. For gaming, this is ideal, as the keyboard takes up minimal space and the mouse has more room. The aluminum construction maintains its shape, and the keys have a textured surface that won’t start to shine after six months. A 1000 Hz polling rate and anti-ghosting are standard for gaming keyboards today, but worth mentioning. The detachable USB-C cable is a small detail that is appreciated when you want to transport the keyboard.

What to watch out for

The keyboard has a US INTL layout – meaning Y and Z are swapped compared to the Czech layout. For gaming, US INTL is standard, but if you type a lot in Czech, you’ll need a few days to get used to it. The function row, arrow keys, and numpad are only accessible via Fn – you’ll quickly realize this when typing tables in Excel. Razer Synapse 3 allows full key remapping, so you can customize the layout, but it’s extra work.

Would you go for a 60% keyboard, or can you not manage without arrow keys and F-keys?
