Do you want a well-equipped Bluetooth speaker for which you won’t have to spend more than five hundred crowns? Niceboy Orion has now dropped to 499 CZK on Heureka, exactly half of its introductory price. At the same time, it is the lowest price it has ever been sold for in the Czech Republic. It boasts good performance, IPX7 rating, and decent battery life. It would be hard to find a better one for this price.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you want an affordable portable speaker with IPX7 resistance for trips, by the water, and outdoors.
⚠️ Consider if 24 W is enough for smaller spaces – it won’t be for a big party in a large room.
💡 At 499 CZK, this is the lowest price Niceboy Orion has been sold for on the Czech market.

Why Niceboy Orion is interesting

The main advantage of the Niceboy Orion is its combination of durability, battery life, and price. The IPX7 rating can handle immersion in water, so you can take it to the swimming pool, on a boat, or skiing without worries. In addition, a battery for 25 hours of playback means that for a typical weekend trip, you charge it once and you’re set.

The second plus is playback flexibility: in addition to Bluetooth 5.3, it also supports a microSD card for offline playlists and a 3.5mm AUX input for older audio sources. With the True Wireless function, you can also connect two Orions into a stereo pair. For 499 CZK, such a wide range of features is rather an exception in this class.

Key parameters

The speaker has a power output of 24 W, a frequency range of 20 Hz – 20 kHz, and supports AAC and SBC codecs. Inside, a 2200 mAh Li-Ion battery is charged via USB-C – so you can use the same cable as with most modern phones. The Bluetooth pairing range is a standard 10 meters.

Among the practical features worth mentioning are a built-in microphone for hands-free calls, support for Siri and Google Assistant voice assistants, optional LED backlighting, and automatic shutdown after 20 minutes of inactivity, which saves battery. You can easily fine-tune the sound with a button for EQ profile settings.

When Niceboy Orion doesn’t make sense

If you are looking for a speaker for a large party in a big room or for a garden with many people, 24 W of power will be on the edge – in that situation, it makes sense to pay extra for a more powerful model. Similarly, if you are betting on the highest possible sound fidelity or support for more advanced codecs (LDAC, aptX HD), the Orion is outside the target audience. However, for casual listening on trips, in the bathroom, at a cottage, or on the beach, it’s hard to find a more reasonable alternative at this price.

Verdict

The Niceboy Orion for 499 CZK offers a fair balance of features and price: IPX7 resistance, 25 hours of battery life, BT 5.3, and three playback methods. It’s not high-end sound, but for half the introductory price and the historically lowest amount on the market, you get a versatile portable speaker that can handle a weekend trip and casual listening at home.

Do you take your portable speaker more for trips to the water, or do you mainly use it at home?
