RGB Mini-LED is the most interesting technology of this year, and Hisense is the first to bring it to a reasonable price point — you can now buy the 85″ model on Alza for 55,990 CZK instead of 69,990 CZK.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you want a giant screen with the latest backlighting and don’t want OLED.
⚠️ Consider that foreign reviewers of the UR9 series have noted occasional motion judder and that it is still an LCD, not OLED.
💡 For 55,990 CZK with a gift soundbar, this is one of the most interesting offers in the premium category.

Why this TV is interesting

Classic Mini-LED TVs emit white light, which is then filtered into colors. RGB Mini-LED mixes color directly at the source using red, green, and blue diodes, achieving 100% BT.2020 color space coverage — a goal that conventional backlighting cannot reach. Practically, this means red that isn’t orange-ish, and green grass that doesn’t look poisonous. For 55,990 CZK you can now get it on Alza in an 85″ diagonal, and you’ll receive a Hisense HT Saturn soundbar, which normally costs 19,990 CZK, for free.

Key parameters explained in plain language

5,000 nits brightness means you can watch sports or news at noon without drawing the curtains, and the picture will remain legible. The anti-reflective layer also absorbs reflections from windows and lamps, so you won’t be looking at yourself on the screen. Gamers will appreciate the 180Hz gaming mode with VRR and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro — on PS5 or Xbox, this means smooth, tear-free, and blur-free images in fast-paced scenes. The sound is handled by a 4.1.2 system tuned by Devialet with a built-in subwoofer and up-firing channels for Dolby Atmos, so unlike most TVs, you won’t need a soundbar on day one with this one, but with this offer, it’s free, as I mentioned above.

Practical aspects: mounting, ports, remote control

For an 85″ diagonal, measure your wall and doors in advance — fortunately, Alza offers delivery and wall mounting, which I definitely recommend for a panel of this size. The VESA mount is 600 × 400 mm. Connectivity caters to gamers: three full-fledged HDMI 2.1 ports, plus a USB-C with DisplayPort, through which you can connect a gaming laptop or mirror your phone and charge it simultaneously. A pleasing detail: the remote control charges via a solar panel, or via USB-C, so no more batteries.

What to watch out for

The TV has only been on the market for three months, so there are no user reviews or reliability data on Alza yet — long-term reliability is simply not verified, and it’s fair to state that upfront. Foreign reviews of the UR9 model series rate the picture very positively, praising brightness and HDR accuracy, but repeatedly encounter occasional motion judder. And beware of one marketing detail: the advertised 5,000 nits is a peak brightness value on a small area, not the sustained performance of the entire screen. It’s still an LCD, so it won’t surpass OLED’s absolute black.

When it doesn’t make sense

If you mainly watch in a darkened room in the evening and value perfect black above all else, you should rather invest the saved money in a smaller OLED. However, for owners of large living rooms who want to watch sports and movies in a bright room, the UR9S is a hit.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

For 55,990 CZK, you get an 85″ TV with technology that most competitors are only just preparing, plus a Hisense soundbar worth 19,990 CZK for free — after accounting for the gift, the real value of the offer is even significantly better than it appears. If you’re tempted by a giant screen for the football World Cup and movies in a bright living room, this is currently one of the strongest arguments on the market. In three months on the market, the price has dropped by fourteen thousand, but with fresh technology and limited stock, you can’t rely on further discounts.

Would you take a giant 85″ RGB Mini-LED with a soundbar included, or would you rather get an OLED with perfect black for the same money?
