Honor is bringing a small tablet, the Pad X7, to the market, aiming to appeal to users looking for a balanced combination of performance, battery life, and an affordable price. The device boasts an 8.7-inch display and several interesting features that make it an attractive choice for everyday use. The tablet stands out primarily for its practical design and metal body, which makes it feel more premium than its price would suggest.

Compact Dimensions for Easy Portability

The Honor Pad X7 is designed with an emphasis on easier one-handed use. With a thickness of just 7.99 mm and a weight of 365 grams, it is an exceptionally portable tablet that easily slips into a smaller bag. The front features an 8.7-inch display with relatively thin bezels, covering approximately 85% of the device’s front surface. The screen further boasts a 90Hz refresh rate and the ability to display 16.7 million colors.

The manufacturer boasts that the display has passed TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue light and flicker-free operation, which should contribute to less eye strain during prolonged use. The features also include an e-book reading mode, which adjusts the screen’s color rendition for more comfortable reading of text documents.

Older Chipset and 7,020mAh Battery

Under the tablet’s hood beats an already somewhat older octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 chipset, manufactured with 6nm technology, reaching a maximum clock speed of 2.4 GHz. In combination with the Adreno 610 GPU and up to 6 GB of RAM, it will provide performance for less demanding tasks, but certainly do not expect extra smooth multitasking or seamless gaming of more demanding titles. The storage has a capacity of up to 128 GB with the possibility of expansion via a microSD card by up to 1 TB.

One of the biggest advantages of the new tablet is undoubtedly its 7,020mAh battery, which, however, only supports 10W charging. Surprisingly, it also supports reverse charging, allowing the tablet to serve as a power bank for charging other devices.

Cameras and Smart Features

On the back of the tablet, we find an 8Mpx main camera, while the front camera has a 5Mpx resolution. Both cameras should provide sufficient quality for video calls or occasional photography. An interesting feature is face unlock, which allows quick access to the device.

The Honor Pad X7 runs on the latest system version and supports several smart features, including Google Gemini and Circle to Search, for which the manufacturer certainly deserves praise. Also included is Google Kids Space with curated content for children and educational applications designed to foster creativity and learning in a safe environment. The tablet is also equipped with an AI noise cancellation system for calls, ensuring clear voice transmission.

Price and Availability

Honor has not yet stated whether the Pad X7 tablet will reach the Czech market. However, it is already available in Saudi Arabia for 349 SAR (approximately 2,000 CZK) after a discount, which, if priced similarly, would make it quite an interesting option for customers here as well. It is available in a grey color variant with a configuration of 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage.

Would you get a compact tablet with such features?
