Ahead of the Barcelona MWC 2026 trade fair, Chinese brand Honor unveiled its latest tablet, the MagicPad 4, which claims the title of the world’s thinnest tablet. With a thickness of just 4.8 mm, it is truly an impressive engineering feat. It seems that extreme slimness does not come with compromises in other areas. It should arrive in the Czech Republic in the coming days.

A display that will please even demanding users

The MagicPad 4 features a 12.3″ OLED panel with a resolution of 3000 × 1920 pixels, which Honor refers to as 3K. The maximum refresh rate is 165 Hz with the option to switch between five levels (165/144/120/90/60 Hz) depending on the content type. Peak HDR brightness reaches 2400 nits, which should ensure good readability even in direct sunlight.

Also noteworthy is the DCI-P3 color space coverage and the display of 1.07 billion colors thanks to 10-bit depth. Honor traditionally does not skimp on eye protection technologies – the tablet offers PWM dimming at a frequency of 5280 Hz, which should eliminate unpleasant flickering at lower brightness levels. The screen-to-body ratio is 93%, meaning the bezels are truly minimal.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 and a decent amount of memory

Under the hood, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, manufactured with a 3nm process, is ticking. This is the same processor that powers current flagship smartphones, so performance should be more than sufficient for any activity. Honor offers the tablet in two memory configurations: 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 16 GB RAM + 512 GB storage.

System-wise, the MagicPad 4 runs on MagicOS 10 based on Android 16. It also includes PC Mode, which transforms the tablet’s interface into a desktop environment with windows and a taskbar – ideal for productive work with a connected keyboard.

Surprisingly large battery

Given its extreme thinness, one might expect compromises in battery life, but Honor has packed a 10,100 mAh battery into the MagicPad 4. This is an impressive figure for such a thin device. 66W wired fast charging is supported, but wireless charging is absent.

The tablet weighs approximately 450 grams, which is a solid value for a 12.3″ device with such a large battery. Dimensions are 273.4 × 178.8 × 4.8 mm.

Cameras and connectivity

Honor does not experiment much in the camera department. On the back, we find a 13Mpx sensor with autofocus and an f/2.0 aperture, while the front features a 9Mpx camera for video calls. For a tablet primarily intended for work and content consumption, this is adequate equipment.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 with 2×2 MIMO support and Bluetooth 6.0 with a wide range of audio codecs including LDAC, aptX Lossless, and LHDC 5.0. The tablet is also equipped with eight speakers with spatial audio support.

Price and availability

In a press release sent to journalists on Sunday, the manufacturer states that the tablet will arrive in the Czech Republic at the turn of February and March. It should therefore appear on store shelves in the coming days. It will be sold in grey and white color variants.

Given its features and premium ambitions, a price of around 15,000 Czech crowns can be expected. For that sum, you will get a truly uniquely thin tablet with flagship performance, a quality display, and decent battery life. The long-term software support and availability of accessories like a keyboard or the Magic-Pencil 3 stylus remain an open question.
