Honor surprised with battery capacities in future models

The latest Honor X70 features a silicon-carbon battery with a capacity of 8,300 mAh, while other devices will have capacities of 7,000 mAh and more. It seems this will not be an exception but a rule. According to a Weibo post, Honor will continue to equip its mid-range and high-end devices with high-capacity batteries.

While traditional manufacturers stick to battery capacities of a maximum of 5,000 mAh, Chinese brands are not afraid to experiment with much larger capacities. The aforementioned Honor has decided to equip its high-end phones with 7,000 mAh batteries and its mid-range devices with even 8,000 mAh batteries. They are not even afraid of even higher values.

The charging speed of these batteries is 100 W. It is not known how many cycles the battery will last. This is, incidentally, why traditional major brands like Samsung do not have the warmest relationship with this innovation. Samsung sticks to proven technology, resulting in an exceptionally high number of charging cycles that the battery can withstand. Other manufacturers, on the other hand, extend battery life using software.

Availability

Phones with large batteries will first be available in China. Whether and when they will reach the European market is currently unknown.
