The Chinese manufacturer Honor has officially launched new smartwatches, the Watch 5 Pro, on its domestic market, positioning them among the brand’s premium models. The new device stands out primarily with an extremely bright display with a value of 3,000 nits and comprehensive health features, including blood pressure measurement and ECG. They will be available in both a classic Bluetooth version and with eSIM support for independent calling.

Display with superb brightness

The Honor Watch 5 Pro feature a circular 1.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 × 466 pixels. The main highlight of the screen is its peak brightness reaching up to 3,000 nits, ensuring perfect readability even in direct sunlight. For comparison – both the Samsung Galaxy Watch8 and Amazfit T-Rex 3 Pro have the same high peak brightness.

The watch itself has a diameter of 46 millimeters and a height of 11.6 millimeters. With a weight of around 50 grams, it is among the lighter models in its category. The watch body combines stainless steel with a durable case that meets IP68, IP69, IP69K, and 5ATM certifications. This allows it to withstand submersion up to 50 meters and makes it resistant to dust and high-pressure water jets.

Advanced health features with medical certification

At the heart of the health features is the Lingtong system, which uses a distributed optical design for more accurate measurements. The Honor Watch 5 Pro enable continuous blood pressure monitoring using a PPG sensor. While not a substitute for a medical sphygmomanometer, it provides a useful overview of trends throughout the day. The watch also offers ECG measurement and detection of atrial fibrillation and extrasystoles using medically certified technologies.

AI coach and advanced sports features

For athletes, Honor has prepared the North Star system with a dual antenna for more precise GPS localization. According to the manufacturer, positioning accuracy has increased by 50% compared to the previous generation. The watch has received five-star certification from the CTTL laboratory for GPS quality.

The integrated AI coach provides voice guidance during runs and can monitor heart rate or pace in real time. In collaboration with Beijing Sport University, Honor has developed personalized training plans with a lower risk of injury. The watch measures advanced running metrics such as vertical oscillation, ground contact time, or maximum oxygen consumption.

Battery life and connectivity

The Honor Watch 5 Pro offer varying battery life depending on usage. In Bluetooth mode, they last up to 15 days on a single charge. When using eSIM in single-number, dual-device mode, battery life drops to 10 days. In fully independent eSIM mode, where the watch functions independently of the phone, it lasts 3 days.

The watch supports eSIM for independent calling (selected versions only), NFC for contactless payments, and Wi-Fi 2.4 GHz. Also integrated are speakers and microphones for making calls directly from the watch. The internal storage has a capacity of 32 GB for music and offline maps.

AI features and smart assistant

Honor has integrated the YOYO assistant into the watch, with support for the large language model DeepSeek. Users can utilize watch face generation based on their own photos. An interesting feature is AI recording, which can synchronize audio recordings with the Honor Notes app and automatically convert to text.

Another new feature is gesture control – a quick wrist rotation can answer a call, snooze an alarm, or switch a song without touching the display.

Price and availability

The Honor Watch 5 Pro are available in China in two versions. The Bluetooth variant costs 1,599 yuan (approximately 4,700 CZK without tax), while the eSIM version costs 1,699 yuan (about 5,000 CZK). The watches are sold in several color schemes inspired by the extremes of nature – among them are the Explorer, Astronomer, Climber, Pioneer, and Navigator variants.

Honor has not yet confirmed whether the Watch 5 Pro will reach global markets, including Europe. Given that the standard Watch 5 model came to the Czech Republic, there is a solid probability that the better-equipped new model will also make its way here. However, we do not know when this might happen.
