Hooray! Gemini AI is coming to another Google app, we probably all use it Home News Google is expanding Gemini features to Google Drive mobile apps for Android and iOS Users can have AI summarize documents, folders, or get facts from multiple files at once The feature is available for Google One AI Premium subscribers and selected Workspace plans Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 2. 10. 2025 02:30 Advertisement The company Google is gradually integrating artificial intelligence Gemini into its mobile applications. After Gmail and Docs, it’s the turn of the cloud storage Drive, which now gets an AI assistant directly in its mobile apps for Android and iOS. Until now, collaboration with the Gemini personal assistant was only available in the web version. What Gemini can do in Google Drive The new integration brings several useful features that will save time when working with documents. Gemini can summarize the content of long documents or even entire folders, allowing the user to quickly grasp the main points without having to go through dozens of pages. AI can also find specific facts across multiple files – just ask, and Gemini will go through all relevant documents in Drive. An interesting feature is the ability to discuss a topic that requires synthesizing information from multiple sources. Gemini can connect information from various files and answer questions in a conversational style. Users can also ask questions directly about images stored in Drive or have AI search for a specific file or folder based on a description. How to access Gemini in the app Google has placed access to the AI assistant in several locations within the app. The main entry point can be found in the top right corner, from where questions related to folders can be asked. Gemini is also available directly in the document viewer and in the overflow menu for individual files. For some documents, a “Summarize this file” button may also appear at the bottom of the screen. After clicking on any of these entry points, a bottom panel will open where the user can enter queries and browse responses from Gemini. The interface is designed to be intuitive and similar to the web version. Who can use the feature Gemini in Google Drive is not available to all users. The feature can be used by Google One AI Premium subscribers and users of the following Workspace plans: Business Standard and Plus, Enterprise Standard and Plus, and Google AI Pro for Education. Deployment, according to the official blog post, began on September 22, 2025, and Google states that full rollout may take more than 15 days. The feature is gradually appearing for both Rapid Release domains and Scheduled Release domains. Administrators must have smart features and personalization enabled in the console for their users to be able to use Gemini. Other AI features in Drive The integration of Gemini into mobile applications builds upon previous AI enhancements to Google Drive. Earlier this year, Google added support for video summaries and the Catch me up feature, which highlights edits and comments since the last time a file was opened. These tools are now complemented by full-fledged collaboration with Gemini directly on mobile. Hooray!
