Huawei Watch GT 7 can handle two phones at once. Without resetting and across systems

Most smartwatches choose one phone and stick with it — changing usually means a complete wipe and setup from scratch, with the exception of some Wear OS watches. The Huawei Watch GT 7 handles this differently, and for anyone juggling a work and personal mobile, it’s quite a significant difference.

Disconnect, connect, done

The process is more straightforward than one might expect. First, you pair the watch once with each phone that has the Huawei Health app installed and logged into the same account. Then, in the watch settings, simply find the “Disconnect” option in the system section, which will release the device from the current phone without removing it from the Bluetooth list. The watch will switch to pairing mode, and you connect it to the second phone. Meanwhile, data is synchronized via the Huawei cloud, so you won’t lose any measured values. For subsequent switches, you just disconnect and tap connect in the app.

Two things to know beforehand

Catch number one: the Huawei Health app is missing from the Play Store, so you’ll have to download it elsewhere — from the manufacturer’s website or alternative stores. It is available on iOS and in other app stores.

Catch number two: compatibility with iPhone does not mean the same range of functions as on Android. The integration is noticeably shallower, which, after all, is not surprising for a watch from a different manufacturer. For Android owners, this is good news — the choice of platform presents no obstacle here.
