Do you want a MacBook-level battery life laptop, but prefer Windows? The HP OmniBook X with a Snapdragon X Elite processor is now available on Alza.cz for an exceptional 24,990 CZK instead of the original 36,990 CZK. That’s a 12,000 CZK discount on a laptop that beats the MacBook Air M3 in battery life tests and offers comparable performance. The only “catch”? It has an English keyboard – but thanks to that, you get a 1TB SSD instead of 512GB in the Czech version, which costs 7,000 more.

Why is this an excellent buy?

The HP OmniBook X is not just another laptop – it’s a Windows machine that genuinely competes with MacBooks. Thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite processor with 12 cores and a frequency of up to 3.4 GHz, it offers performance comparable to the Apple M3. In the Geekbench 6 benchmark, it achieves a score of 12,861 points in the multicore test, even surpassing its Apple rival in this regard.

However, the main highlight is the incredible 16-hour battery life during normal use. That’s one hour more than the MacBook Air M3 (approximately 15 hours) and more than double that of typical Windows laptops. You can leave for work in the morning with a fully charged laptop and return home in the evening still with power to spare.

Copilot+ PC with Artificial Intelligence

The OmniBook X is among the Copilot+ PC laptops with a dedicated NPU chip for AI. The Neural Processing Unit handles 45 TOPS (trillions of operations per second) and allows AI models to run directly on the device without the cloud. In practice, this means instant background blur during video calls, real-time automatic translations, or even image generation in Paint.

The laptop weighs just 1.35 kg with a thickness of 14.5 mm. It fits easily into a backpack and, thanks to its all-metal body, can withstand rougher handling. The 14″ touch display with a resolution of 2240 × 1400 px is good, it’s just a shame it’s not an OLED.

What do foreign reviews say?

American PCMag awarded the OmniBook X a 4/5 star rating with the comment: “Exceptional battery life in a thin metal body with a fast Snapdragon X Elite AI processor.”

Tom’s Guide even awarded it the Editor’s Choice award and wrote: “The HP OmniBook X gives MacBooks a run for their money. Its lack of style is more than compensated for by its fast performance and exceptional battery life.”

The only criticisms are directed at the absence of an OLED display and some compatibility issues with older Windows applications. However, most common programs work without issues thanks to the Prism emulation layer.

English Keyboard – Problem or Advantage?

The 24,990 CZK version has an English keyboard, but double the storage. While the Czech version for 31,990 CZK offers only a 512GB SSD, the English one has a full 1TB. That’s a 500GB storage difference for 7,000 CZK less!

For most users, an English keyboard is not an issue – Czech characters can be typed using keyboard shortcuts, or you can buy Czech stickers for a few crowns. Programmers and IT professionals even prefer the English keyboard due to a better layout of special characters

Who is the OmniBook X ideal for?

The laptop will be especially appreciated by:

  • Students and academics – all-day battery life without a charger, lightweight design for a backpack
  • Business professionals – performance for multitasking, long battery life for travel
  • Content creators – fast processor for editing, touch display for creative work
  • Developers and IT professionals – ARM architecture, powerful processor, English keyboard

Verdict: Best Price/Performance/Battery Life Ratio

With a price of 24,990 CZK on Alza.cz, the HP OmniBook X represents an excellent offer. For the price of a standard ultrabook, you get the performance of a premium machine, better battery life than a MacBook, and 1TB of storage. The English keyboard might deter some, but when you consider that you save 7,000 CZK compared to the Czech version and get double the storage, it’s more of an advantage.

If you’re looking for a laptop for all-day work without a charger, the OmniBook X is currently one of the best choices on the market. The combination of the Snapdragon X Elite processor, 16-hour battery life, and premium build quality at this price simply has no competition.
