HyperOS 3 hides an excellent feature! Unfortunately, it (apparently) won't make it to these phones

Xiaomi has started rolling out HyperOS 3 globally, but not all users will get the same features. The most painful limitation is Hyper Island – Xiaomi’s version of Dynamic Island from iPhones. Even owners of the Redmi Note 14 Pro+, which cost over 10 thousand at launch, won’t get the feature.

Hyper Island is Xiaomi’s answer to Apple’s Dynamic Island. Interactive notifications, media player controls, timers, or charging information are displayed around the front camera. Instead of a static “hole” in the display, you have a functional space.

Apple introduced it with the iPhone 14 Pro, and everyone immediately copied it. Realme has Mini Capsule, Honor has Magic Capsule. Now Xiaomi comes with Hyper Island – but only for the chosen few.

According to findings by developers from the HyperCeiler project (a popular module for HyperOS modification), Hyper Island will not work on any phone in the Redmi Note series and below. This includes models like the Redmi Note 14 Pro+.

User PaperKing13 on X confirmed that even though he downloaded the same version of HyperOS 3 that runs on the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ (which doesn’t officially exist yet), the feature simply isn’t there.

Xiaomi built its name on providing flagship features at affordable prices. Hyper Island is not an essential feature one cannot live without. But it’s about the principle.

The community will surely find a way to enable Hyper Island on Redmi Note phones. But the average user who buys a phone in a store is out of luck. And that’s a shame…
