Xiaomi sells a miniature shaver in the Czech Republic for a few crowns Home Articles The Xiaomi Electric Shaver S200 is a small, practical, and surprisingly powerful shaver at an affordable price Touch control and 8000 revolutions per minute ensure fast shaving even for technologically stubborn novices It's so compact you might mistake it for a headphone case, but its functionality will surprise you Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Published: 24. 7. 2025 06:30 Advertisement As a technology website, we primarily test smartphones, tablets, headphones, or smart home devices, but occasionally something less “intelligent” lands in our editorial office. This time it was a gray box that I initially mistook for a wireless headphone case. However, it turned out to be the Xiaomi Electric Shaver S200 for under 600 Czech crowns. Since my facial hair resembles fine fuzz rather than adult beard, and I usually combine a classic plug-in electric shaver with occasional razor use, I was curious how this pocket-sized gadget would fare in everyday life. Is it really THAT shaver? Intelligent, though not smart How does a miniature shaver for six hundred crowns shave? Surprising Endurance Is it miniature… too much? Verdict: A Pocket Helper at an Affordable Price Is it really THAT shaver? The first encounter with the Xiaomi Electric Shaver S200 is guaranteed to surprise you. The shaver is truly miniature – with its dimensions of 6.3 × 5.6 × 2.7 cm, it fits practically anywhere. While this fact seems like an advantage in carry-on luggage, in real life, I found myself desperately searching for the shaver all over the bathroom, only to eventually find it between my toothbrush and a cup. In terms of design, it’s a typical Xiaomi product – minimalist, elegant, and practical. The gray finish with fine sandblasting truly resists fingerprints even with daily handling, which is a pleasant surprise. The package includes the shaver itself, a travel case, a cleaning brush, and a charging cable with a USB-C connector. You have to use your own adapter, but nowadays, when the EU has forced even Apple to use the USB-C standard, that’s hardly a problem. Intelligent, though not smart Although the S200 is not among smart appliances with Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, it offers an interesting element of “intelligence” – a touch sensor that automatically activates the motor upon contact with the skin. In practice, it works surprisingly well – just pick up the shaver, place it against your face, and it starts running on its own. As soon as you move it away, it immediately turns off. KOUPIT STROJEK XIAOMI This feature has several advantages – it extends battery life, simplifies operation, and reduces the risk of accidental activation in a backpack or pocket. After a few days of use, the traditional power switch on my large shaver began to feel unnecessarily archaic. The system works reliably and without unnecessary delays, although occasionally when shaving under the chin, it’s necessary to experiment a bit with the angle to keep the shaver active. How does a miniature shaver for six hundred crowns shave? The key question, of course, is how the S200 handles its main task – shaving. It dealt with my “fuzz” without problems, although compared to my more powerful plug-in shaver, it occasionally pulls a bit. The 8000 revolutions per minute motor provides surprising power given the device’s size. The double-curved foils adapt well to facial contours, and in combination with floating blades, they can achieve a decent shave. Of course, one cannot expect results comparable to premium shavers costing several thousand crowns or a classic razor. However, for daily grooming of finer beards, the S200 is more than sufficient. It performed best when shaving the face and neck, and struggled a bit more with the area under the nose and around the chin, where several passes were sometimes needed. I also appreciate the wet shaving option, which significantly improves the result. Thanks to IPX7 water resistance, you don’t have to worry about using foam or gel, and you can simply rinse the shaver under running water afterward. With regular cleaning (just remove the magnetic head and rinse), the S200 maintains identical performance even after several weeks of use. Surprising Endurance The lithium-ion battery found inside the S200 surprisingly holds the promised 60 minutes of operation. In practice, for me, this means approximately a month of regular use on a single charge, which is impressive for such a compact device. Charging via USB-C takes less than two hours. KOUPIT STROJEK XIAOMI During testing, I noticed that the motor’s performance remains consistent even at a lower battery level. Thus, the shaver does not slow down or lose efficiency towards the end of its cycle, which I have personally encountered with competitors. The only indication of a draining battery is a slight reduction in motor volume, but even then, the shaver shaves relatively reliably. Is it miniature… too much? The compact dimensions of the S200 are its greatest strength and potential weakness. This shaver is absolutely ideal for travel – it fits into any travel bag, doesn’t require a special charger, and thanks to the case, you don’t have to worry about damage. However, for longer use at home, its size can be a bit limiting. Holding the shaver requires some practice, especially if you have larger hands. While the ergonomics are well thought out, after 5-10 minutes of shaving, slight finger fatigue may occur. So, if you’re looking for a main home shaver for daily use and have a thicker beard, my more powerful plug-in shaver would be a better choice. However, as a backup or travel option, the S200 is hard to beat. Verdict: A Pocket Helper at an Affordable Price The Xiaomi Electric Shaver S200 is a surprisingly capable shaver in an extremely compact body. For under 600 CZK, you get decent performance, practical features like automatic activation and a magnetic head, and solid battery life. For men with finer growth like me, it’s a great travel companion, although at home, I still prefer to return to my more powerful shaver. What do you think of Xiaomi’s travel shaver?
