It can fry, dehydrate, and steam. Xiaomi unveiled a smart air fryer with a ton of features

Air fryers have become a phenomenon in recent years, penetrating millions of households worldwide. Xiaomi is now expanding its range of kitchen appliances with the model Mijia Smart Steam Air Fryer 7L, which combines classic hot air frying with the option of preparing dishes with steam. The new product has appeared on the manufacturer’s global website and is likely to also launch in European countries, including the Czech Republic.

Steam and hot air in one appliance

The main draw of the new air fryer is the combination of two cooking technologies. Xiaomi has integrated a 1.5-liter water tank into the appliance, which generates steam at temperatures up to 130 °C. The manufacturer states that the 900W steam system can prepare broccoli in 8 minutes, which is 30% faster than traditional electric steamers.

The air fryer offers 10 cooking modes, including classic frying, baking, sous vide, fermentation, dehydration, and defrosting. The temperature range is from 40 to 230 °C, with 360° hot air circulation ensuring even cooking without the need to turn food.

Smart features with the Xiaomi Home app

Mijia Smart Steam Air Fryer 7L supports Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, allowing it to be connected to the Xiaomi Home mobile app. Users thus gain access to over 100 cloud recipes, which are continuously updated. The app enables remote control of the appliance and monitoring of the cooking process.

The air fryer features an LCD display with a rotary knob, through which temperature, time, and cooking mode can be set. There are 25 preset recipes available for quick preparation of favorite dishes with a single touch. The option to save custom settings for repeated use is also included.

Practical features and materials

Xiaomi has equipped the air fryer with a 7-inch transparent window, which allows checking the status of dishes without removing the basket. The basket itself has a volume of 7 liters, which, according to the manufacturer, is sufficient for a whole chicken, 800g of fries, or 24 chicken wings. A stand for two-level cooking is also included in the package.

The interior of the appliance is made of 304 stainless steel and a non-stick coating free of PFAS substances. The air fryer features an automatic shut-off function when the basket is removed and a 30-minute keep-warm function after cooking is complete. For easier maintenance, drying and odor removal modes are available.

Availability in the Czech Republic unclear for now

Xiaomi has not yet revealed when and for how much the Mijia Smart Steam Air Fryer 7L will reach European markets. However, its presence on the global website suggests that it could arrive in the Czech Republic within a few months. We estimate the price to be in the range of 2,000 to 3,000 CZK, considering similar products in the brand’s portfolio.
