Nintendo Switch 2 entered the market in June, and since then, prices at major retailers have remained practically at the recommended level – in the Czech Republic, you would typically pay over 12 thousand. However, via Heureka, you can now get it for 9 016 Kč, and with a Smart! subscription, even for 8 565 Kč – approximately 4 thousand below the usual price.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you want a top hybrid console – you play at home on the TV and occasionally take the console with you on the go.
⚠️ Consider if you plan long gaming sessions in handheld mode – the battery can only handle more demanding titles for 2–3 hours.
💡 For 8 565 Kč, you’re getting the new generation Nintendo at a price that seemed impossible a few weeks ago.

The Allegro Smart! service trick

The price of 8 565 Kč applies to users with an active Allegro Smart! – a subscription that costs 59 Kč monthly or 299 Kč annually. If you don’t have Smart!, you’ll pay 9 016 Kč, which is still significantly less than anywhere else. However, for a single Switch purchase, it’s worth getting Smart! – you’ll save 451 Kč on the console itself, and immediately after ordering, you can cancel Smart! in your account settings. The subscription has no commitment; the period remains active until the end of the paid period.

If you shop more on Allegro, it’s worth keeping Smart! – you’ll get unlimited free delivery and free returns. For a one-time use with this discount, it’s definitely the cheapest way to get Switch 2 in the Czech Republic.

Why Switch 2 is worth considering

Nintendo took its time after eight years since the original Switch, and the result is the most feature-rich console in the company’s history. The custom Nvidia Tegra T239 chip with DLSS support allows playing even former “impossible ports” – Cyberpunk 2077, including the Phantom Liberty expansion, actually works and plays great on Switch 2. When docked to a TV, the console upscales the image to 4K resolution with HDR, VRR, and 120 fps (depending on the specific game).

Practical innovations: magnetic Joy-Con 2 controllers attach significantly better than the rail system of the original Switch. Additionally, each Joy-Con 2 functions as a mouse when laid on its side – not the most ergonomic, but it makes sense for strategy games or some indie titles. Backward compatibility with the original Switch’s library means you won’t lose your games. Some old titles even run better – Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, which struggled a lot on the first version, now run in 4K at 60 fps.

Where are the limitations

The first point that reviews repeatedly criticize: battery life is not much better than the first version. When playing Cyberpunk 2077, the console consumes about 1% per minute of gameplay, so you’ll get 2–3 hours of intense handheld use. Less demanding indie titles like Deltarune can manage around 4.5 hours. So, for longer trips, prepare a power bank.

Second practical point: Switch 2 exclusively supports microSD Express cards. Classic microSD cards from the original Switch do not work, and microSD Express cards are sold significantly more expensively – a 256 GB card will cost you 1 500 Kč or more. Fortunately, the console already comes with 256 GB of internal storage (8× more than the original Switch), so it’s worth waiting to expand it.

Do you consider Switch 2 your main console, or an addition to PlayStation and Xbox?
