The wireless microphone market is dominated by DJI, and few can challenge it. Thirty-two bits means you won’t clip the audio

The most important feature is called 32-bit float recording, and in practice, it solves the most common problem in amateur filming: clipped audio. When someone raises their voice or laughs in the middle of an interview, a regular microphone clips the sound, making the recording unusable. With 32-bit float recording, the volume can be adjusted in post-production even retrospectively, because nothing is clipped. Each transmitter also records a backup to its own 32GB memory, so even a wireless signal dropout doesn’t mean a lost interview.

Another unique feature is the trio of microphones with four selectable polar patterns – omnidirectional, super-directional, cardioid, and figure-8. These are created software-wise using DSP and mean that one transmitter can handle both capturing a single person in noise and the atmosphere of an entire room. Trusted Reviews adds that its noise cancellation surpasses DJI Mic 3 and that the transmitter can be mounted on a camera’s hot shoe and used as a directional microphone – a trick that even DJI doesn’t offer.

And then there’s something no one else has: an E-ink display on each transmitter. The main criticism is size. SoundGuys writes that the microphone is not the smallest on the market and that the charging case is bulky, yet not all accessories fit inside – anyone looking for a pocket-sized set will be happier with the competition. Trusted Reviews also mentions a few minor design imperfections that, in their opinion, prevent a full rating.
