It weighs 59 grams and costs 499 CZK. A wireless mouse from Genesis copied the shape of Logitech for a fraction of the price

A wireless mouse under 60 grams used to be the exclusive domain of models costing two and a half thousand. You can now buy the Genesis Zircon 660 on Alza for 499 CZK, exactly half its usual price. And its shape makes no secret of where it drew inspiration – the symmetrical body strikingly resembles the Logitech G Pro, but for a fraction of its price.

A sensor that didn’t falter in tests

The optical PixArt PAW3311 with sensitivity up to 12,000 DPI is nominally a lower-tier sensor, but foreign tests put it through synthetic measurements, and the result was surprising: no smoothing, no jitter, no unwanted acceleration across the entire sensitivity range. It’s more than sufficient for competitive gaming. The main buttons are served by Huano switches with a lifespan of 90 million clicks, and the 400 mAh battery lasts for up to 80 hours. You can connect it via a 2.4GHz receiver, Bluetooth, or a braided detachable USB cable – and the receiver hides directly inside the mouse body, so you won’t lose it on the go.

Where are the compromises

Genesis achieved its low weight with an open bottom featuring large holes – it works, but dust could theoretically get inside. The DPI change button is located on the bottom of the mouse, so you can’t switch sensitivity during a game, and the RGB backlighting consists of only two subtle strips that turn off during movement to save battery. Practical, but anyone expecting a light show will be disappointed. On Alza, the new product currently has only two ratings (4.5/5), but foreign tests agree: for under five hundred, it’s hard to buy a better wireless mouse right now.
