A burst washing machine hose, a dripping siphon under the sink, or a leaky boiler in the basement. Water usually doesn’t announce itself, and you only find out when you’re standing in a puddle, or worse, when a neighbor living a floor below complains. The Immax NEO water leak sensor now costs 299 CZK instead of 499 CZK with code ALZADNY40.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense if you already have an Immax NEO PRO gateway (or plan to get one) and want to monitor your washing machine, dishwasher, or boiler.
⚠️ Consider that the sensor will not work without this gateway, and it is not included in the package.
💡 For 299 CZK, you get an inexpensive sensor that will sound an alarm directly on site during a leak and also notify your phone.

200 CZK discount from the price it was actually sold for

Alza states the minimum pre-promotion price as 499 CZK, so with code ALZADNY40, you save 200 CZK, or 40%. In addition to the standard two-year warranty, you now also get another year of warranty for free.

The timing is also right. With the heating season, boilers and radiators are fully restarting, and anyone with a boiler in a utility room or basement, where they don’t go every day, might only notice a dripping valve by a wet floor. This is exactly what a sensor like this is designed for.

It will sound an alarm at 120 dB and the battery is supposed to last three years

The principle is simple. You place the sensor on the floor where a leak is most likely to occur, i.e., under the washing machine, dishwasher, sink, or near the boiler. As soon as it detects water, it will trigger a 120 dB siren and simultaneously send a notification to your phone via the gateway. This way, you’ll know about the problem even if you’re at work or at your cottage. With dimensions of 4.8 × 1.4 × 6.3 cm, it also fits into narrower spaces.

It is powered by two AAA lithium batteries, which, according to the manufacturer, should last up to three years. While we cannot independently verify this, the app will show you the battery status, so a drained sensor shouldn’t catch you off guard. It communicates via Zigbee 3.0 with a range of 30 m, but the manufacturer states this value for open spaces. Expect a shorter distance through walls and ceilings.

What do you need for the sensor to work?

This is important to know before purchasing. The sensor requires an Immax NEO PRO gateway to function and must be placed within its range. The package only includes the sensor itself and a manual. If you are just starting to build a smart home with Immax, add the gateway to the price. You can then connect other sensors from the brand to it, such as a door and window sensor, about whose discount we wrote in June.

Alza states the sensor’s compatibility with Google Home, Tuya, and Lidl Home applications, as well as with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice assistants. If you already have a Zigbee gateway for Tuya or Lidl Home at home, there’s a chance you can pair the sensor with it. However, the manufacturer explicitly expects its own gateway in the description, so consider this a possibility, not a certainty. The Immax NEO PRO application is in Czech and runs on both Android and iOS.

When not to buy it

If you don’t have a Zigbee gateway and don’t want to get one, the sensor will be useless on its own. If you’re content with the sensor beeping and don’t need mobile notifications, a simple battery-powered alarm without an app will suffice. And one more thing: the sensor only reports a water leak; it doesn’t stop it itself. If you want the water to shut off automatically after a leak, you’ll need to add a controlled valve to your smart home system.

Who it’s worth it for at 299 CZK

For 299 CZK with code ALZADNY40, I would primarily recommend it for households already running on an Immax NEO PRO gateway. There, it’s an inexpensive expansion that will pay for itself with the first burst hose. It will be appreciated by apartment owners in apartment buildings and panel houses, where a water leak affects not only you but also your neighbors below, and also by cottage owners who are not on site for weeks. Anyone starting from scratch should first calculate the price of the entire setup, including the gateway.

Does anything monitor your washing machine or boiler, or do you rely on noticing a puddle in time?
