A large monitor for work today often means an ultrawide, curved screen. But it doesn’t suit everyone’s desk and habits. The Samsung ViewFinity S8 offers 37 inches in a regular 16:9 ratio and 4K resolution. With code ALZADNY50, you can buy it on Alza for 7,490 CZK instead of 8,988 CZK. Before that, it long cost 12,990 CZK.

Quick summary:
✅ Makes sense if you are looking for a large area for spreadsheets, documents or programming and want to power and connect your laptop with a single cable.
⚠️ Be aware that this is a VA panel with 60 Hz, which is not suitable for gaming or work with precise colors.
💡 For 7,490 CZK you get a 37″ 4K monitor with a USB-C dock, pivot, and KVM switch, which Alza customers rate 4.4 out of 5 stars.

The monitor long cost 12,990 CZK

On Alza, the monitor long cost 12,990 CZK, then for a while it increased to 14,980 CZK, and just before this promotion, it was available for 8,988 CZK. The discount code ALZADNY50 will now reduce the price by another 1,498 CZK to 7,490 CZK.

One cable for a laptop, one keyboard for two computers

For working with a laptop, the USB-C port with up to 90W power delivery is key. With a single cable, you send the image to the monitor and simultaneously charge your laptop. The monitor also has USB-A ports and an RJ-45 network port, so you can leave your keyboard, mouse, and Ethernet connected to it and just plug in your laptop.

Another practical feature is the built-in KVM switch, with which you control two connected computers with one keyboard and mouse – for example, a work laptop and a home desktop PC. You can also have both images side-by-side (PbP), or one in a small window over the other (PiP). Other inputs include DisplayPort and HDMI.

The stand allows for height adjustment, tilt, swivel, and 90° pivot, and for those who want to mount the monitor on an arm or wall, VESA 100 × 100 mm mounting is available. Samsung also adds Eye Saver mode with blue light reduction, Flicker Free technology against flickering, and TÜV certification.

The panel is VA, even though the description on Alza claims otherwise

Don’t be misled when buying. The marketing description on Alza mentions an IPS panel, but the specifications list a VA type panel, and in addition to Samsung’s website, customers who bought the monitor also confirm this. Several of them note that black appears more like dark gray and colors are not as faithful as with IPS. One buyer calls it a surprise because they expected deeper blacks from a VA panel.

The refresh rate is 60 Hz, so anyone used to 120 Hz (e.g., from a MacBook Pro) will notice the difference in smoothness. Although the manufacturer states support for HDR10 and 1.07 billion colors, the monitor is aimed more at office use than at graphic designers.

Customers praise the screen area and sharpness, complaints target USB-C

On Alza, the monitor has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 from 29 customers, 83% of whom recommend it, and the return rate is low, 0.57%. However, the 37″ model shares ratings with smaller 27″ and 32″ variants, so some of the feedback pertains to them. Buyers praise the sharp 4K image, price-performance ratio, and convenient single-cable laptop connection.

The most specific complaints concern USB-C. According to one user, the monitor only manages 60 Hz in USB-C High Resolution mode; after switching to High Speed Data, the refresh rate drops to 30 Hz. The same user reports only around 230 to 250 Mbit/s on the network port. Other buyers mention missing speakers, a single HDMI port, or a short power cable, and for smaller variants, there have also been complaints about dead pixels.

When to look elsewhere

If you edit photos or videos and care about faithful colors, it’s worth paying extra for IPS. Gamers, on the other hand, will not be satisfied with 60 Hz and the lack of adaptive image synchronization. And consider the 37 inches when choosing a desk – the mentioned buyer chose the monitor specifically for a deep desk; on a shallow one, it would be unnecessarily close to your eyes.

Large workspace for the office for 7,490 CZK

The Samsung ViewFinity S8 is a monitor for those who want as much workspace as possible without an ultrawide format: spreadsheets, code, or documents side-by-side, or two computers on one desk. For 7,490 CZK with code ALZADNY50, you get a 37″ 4K screen with a USB-C dock, KVM switch, and a fully adjustable stand for half the regular price. However, graphic designers and gamers should look elsewhere; the VA panel and 60 Hz are compromises that even a good price cannot outweigh.

Do you prefer working on one large monitor, or two smaller ones side-by-side?
