Large ASUS ROG Strix OLED monitor on a great deal! It has 4K resolution and 10-bit colors

QD-OLED monitors dropped below 20 thousand last year, and now the ASUS ROG Strix XG32UCDS model is on sale. It offers the best of OLED technology in a gaming package, but content creators will also appreciate it.

QD-OLED in its full glory

A 31.5″ panel with 3840 × 2160 resolution and QD-OLED technology means perfect blacks (1,500,000:1 contrast), vibrant colors thanks to quantum dots, and a 0.03 ms response time – that’s a hundred times faster than conventional IPS monitors. Definitely don’t expect ghosting or motion blur here.

A 165 Hz refresh rate with FreeSync Premium and Adaptive-Sync support ensures smooth, tear-free visuals. HDR with brightness up to 1000 cd/m² brings out details in both highlights and shadows. 10-bit color depth displays over a billion colors.

Ports include 2× HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB-C. The stand allows for height and tilt adjustment, or you can use a VESA mount (100×100).

On Reddit, the monitor is praised as „crazy good” and „amazing for the money”. One user compares it to the more expensive PG32UCDM model – just with a lower frequency (165 Hz compared to 240 Hz) and a smaller stand. It works excellently for both PS5 Pro and Mac.

However, two typical QD-OLED caveats emerge. Firstly: in daylight, the panel may have a slight magenta tint. The solution? A darkened room or at least control over lighting. Secondly: some complain about frequent pixel cleaning notifications – the burn-in protection system might be overly zealous. It can be set to longer intervals.
