Large smart Xiaomi refrigerator arrived in the Czech Republic. You can buy it cheaper than we expected

Large American refrigerators have long been more common in luxury kitchens. However, Xiaomi is now one of those pushing them into more affordable appliances, and the MIJIA Refrigerator Side-by-Side 621L model, about whose global launch we wrote at the end of May, has now also arrived in a local e-shop. And with a pleasant surprise: in the Czech Republic, it will cost 17,999 CZK, which is less than the European price suggested at its premiere.

621 liters and 18 compartments for a full grocery haul

The main advantage is its volume. The refrigerator can hold 621 liters, which the manufacturer has divided between a 385-liter refrigeration section and a 236-liter freezer. Inside, you’ll find a total of 18 compartments, shelves, and drawers, so you should be able to store a large weekend grocery haul for a larger family without a puzzle. The doors also open up to 90°, which makes it easier to pull out deeper drawers.

Freshness is monitored by four sensors and antibacterial Ag⁺

Even cooling is ensured by a No Frost system with multi-channel airflow, eliminating manual defrosting. The internal temperature is monitored by four sensors, and according to Xiaomi, the interior is protected by an antibacterial Ag⁺ Fresh layer, which now also works in the freezer. It can freeze up to 14 kg of food in 24 hours, and a dual inverter compressor with a noise level of just 35 dB ensures quiet operation.

What can the refrigerator do via phone?

Besides cooling itself, it’s a typical piece from the smart home ecosystem. Through the Xiaomi Home app, you can set temperature, modes, and notifications remotely, the appliance receives over-the-air (OTA) updates, and it also responds to voice commands via Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa. A touch-sensitive LED panel is present on the door, and LED lighting illuminates the interior.

Price and availability of the Xiaomi refrigerator in the Czech Republic

You can now buy the refrigerator directly from the Czech mi.com store for 17,999 CZK. This is a pleasant figure – at its European premiere, the manufacturer spoke of 849 euros, which translated to approximately 20,600 CZK. The dimensions of 910 × 715 × 1,770 mm indicate that it’s a substantial piece of furniture, and it will stand out in the kitchen with its brushed stainless steel finish.

However, one compromise lurks in the energy label: the refrigerator falls into class E, which is not an energy-saving champion on today’s A–G scale. Anyone monitoring the lowest possible electricity bill should take this into account – however, for a large American refrigerator, higher consumption is somewhat inherent.
