The G502 series is one of the best-selling gaming mice in the world – and its latest wireless version is now significantly more affordable. You can buy Logitech G502 X Plus for 2,499 CZK instead of the original 3,299 CZK. The combination of a premium sensor, hybrid switches, and LIGHTSPEED wireless technology at this price is unique in the market.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you are looking for a premium wireless gaming mouse with perfect ergonomics and plenty of programmable buttons.
⚠️ Consider if you mind a louder scroll wheel or need Bluetooth connectivity.
💡 For 2,499 CZK you get the legendary G502 ergonomics, HERO 25K sensor, LIGHTSPEED wireless technology, and RGB lighting – which is exceptional in this price range.

Why this mouse is interesting

G502 X Plus is the latest iteration of the legendary G502 series, which has gained cult status among gamers over the years. Logitech has completely redesigned it and equipped it with the latest technologies. The HERO 25K sensor offers sensitivity up to 25,600 DPI with micron-level precision – without smoothing, filtering, or acceleration. In practice, this means the mouse responds exactly as you move your hand.

The main draw is the LIGHTFORCE hybrid switches. They combine optical activation speed with mechanical haptic feedback – so you get the speed of optical switches and the familiar “click.” Battery life reaches up to 130 hours with RGB off, or 37 hours with full lighting. This is above standard for a wireless gaming mouse with RGB.

Ergonomics and programmable buttons

There are 13 programmable buttons available, including two side buttons near the thumb and a DPI switch. The DPI button is also removable and reversible – you can adjust it to your grip or replace it with a blank cover. The scroll wheel supports two modes: precise step-by-step scrolling or free hyperscroll for quickly browsing long documents. Tilting left/right adds two more programmable inputs.

Wireless connectivity and RGB

LIGHTSPEED wireless technology is 68% faster in the new generation than the previous version. The response is practically indistinguishable from a wired mouse – several users in reviews confirm that they “didn’t notice a difference between wired and LIGHTSPEED.” Connection is made via a USB receiver that plugs into the PC. The mouse does not support Bluetooth, which may be a limitation for some.

LIGHTSYNC RGB lighting offers 16.8 million colors across 8 LED diodes. The lighting can be synchronized with other Logitech G devices via the G HUB software. A smart feature is automatic dimming when you place your hand on the mouse – this saves battery. Charging is done via USB-C, and the mouse is compatible with the POWERPLAY mat for wireless charging during gaming.

What users say

On Alza, the mouse has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 (231 ratings) and 90% of customers recommend it. Over 5000 units have been sold with a return rate of only 0.86%. Users most often praise its ergonomics, number of programmable buttons, sensor quality, and long battery life. One reviewer summarizes: “This is probably my 15th wireless mouse from Logitech, and this one is in a completely different league.”

Critical voices mainly focus on the loud scroll wheel. One user writes that “when scrolling faster, the clicking could be heard throughout the apartment.” Others mention that the main switches are louder than in the previous generation G502. The G HUB software has mixed reviews – some praise it for its clarity, while others describe it as confusing. And compared to the older G502, there is no option to add weights to adjust the mass.

When this mouse doesn’t make sense

If you work in a quiet environment or are bothered by loud clicking and scrolling, the G502 X Plus might disturb you. Similarly, if you need Bluetooth connectivity (for example, to connect to multiple devices) – the mouse only supports the proprietary LIGHTSPEED receiver. And if you are a fan of the older G502 and want to adjust the weight with weights, this version does not allow it.

For Linux users, there’s also a complication – RGB cannot be turned off without the G HUB software, which is only for Windows and macOS. Some users also report occasional issues with cursor skipping, but this could be an individual defect.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

The Logitech G502 X Plus for 2,499 CZK is an excellent choice for gamers who want a premium wireless mouse with legendary ergonomics, a fast sensor, and plenty of programmable buttons. LIGHTFORCE hybrid switches, LIGHTSPEED technology, and up to 130 hours of battery life are above standard in this price category. However, be aware that the scroll wheel and switches are louder, and weights for adjusting mass are missing.

Do you prefer a wireless mouse, or do you still rely on a wired one?
