Bluetooth speakers don’t have to cost a fortune. Proof of this is the SILVERCREST Mini Bluetooth Speaker, which you can now purchase at Lidl with a discount. The regular price of 349.90 CZK is now reduced by more than 30% to just 239.90 CZK. The speaker offers surprisingly good features in a compact package and a long battery life that even more expensive competing models might envy.

Surprisingly Long Battery Life and Decent Sound

Undoubtedly, the biggest asset of this speaker is its battery, which allows it to play music for up to 15 hours on a single charge. This is a value that even significantly more expensive speakers can boast. In addition, this model features 6 W RMS power, which is a fairly decent value for such a small and inexpensive device. Sound transmission is handled by Bluetooth version 5.0 with a range of up to 10 meters, or a classic 3.5mm AUX input for connecting older devices without wireless technology.

The speaker also boasts support for the True Wireless Stereo function, which allows two identical speakers to be wirelessly connected to create higher-quality stereo sound. For charging, there is a modern USB-C port, which I consider a standard today, without which no device should enter the market.

Compact Dimensions for Easy Portability

With dimensions of 75 x 90 x 75 mm and a weight of 275 grams, this is a very compact speaker that you can easily slip into a larger pocket, backpack, or handbag. This allows you to keep it with you at all times and enjoy your favorite music virtually anywhere. The plastic body may not feel the most premium, but it is entirely adequate for its price category.

According to customer reviews, the speaker is very popular – 97% of buyers recommend it and it has received an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars from 37 reviewers. This indicates that despite its low price, it can meet the expectations of most users.

Where Does the Speaker Have Its Limits?

Although the Silvercrest is an attractive choice at this price, its disadvantages must also be mentioned. The speaker lacks enhanced resistance to water or dust, making it unsuitable for use in more demanding conditions. Also, the absence of a microphone means you cannot use it as a hands-free device for phone calls. For more demanding listeners, the lack of support for advanced audio codecs like AAC or aptX, which offer higher quality audio reproduction, can also be limiting.

It should also be noted that with this size and price, a full-fledged sound performance cannot be expected – especially depths and bass will be limited, which is a natural trade-off for compact dimensions. Furthermore, the speaker does not support playback from SD cards or have an integrated FM radio, which some competitors in a similar price range offer.

Alternatives Available in the Czech Republic

If you are unsure whether Silvercrest is the right choice, we offer several interesting alternatives available on the Czech market:

Niceboy RAZE Mini 4

Niceboy RAZE Mini 4 offers similar 5 W power but stands out with MaxxBass technology for richer bass performance. Compared to Silvercrest, it has newer Bluetooth 5.3 and adds an integrated microphone for hands-free calls. Furthermore, it features IPX5 splash resistance and an FM radio function. On the other hand, it has a shorter battery life – only 8 hours compared to Silvercrest’s 15 hours.

C-TECH SPK-08B, black

C-TECH SPK-08B is the cheapest alternative, priced at just 179 CZK. It offers 3W power, which is less than Silvercrest, and also a significantly shorter battery life of only 3 hours. On the other hand, it adds functionality that Silvercrest lacks – a microSD card slot and a USB port for a flash drive, so you can play music even without connecting to a phone. Its cube-like design with dimensions of 6 × 6 × 6 cm is extremely compact.

Canyon BSP-4, red

Canyon BSP-4 is one of the more popular models on the market with a rating of 4.7/5 stars. It offers a stylish design in various color variants and the option to play from a microSD card. Battery life is only 4 hours, which is significantly less than Silvercrest. However, at a price of 399 CZK, it is noticeably more expensive, although it does not bring better sound performance or durability.

Genius SP-915BT black

Genius SP-915BT is the best-equipped alternative with support for advanced audio codecs AAC and aptX for better sound quality. It offers 5W power, Bluetooth 5.3, IPX4 certification for splash resistance, and an integrated microphone. While its 6-hour battery life is better than most competitors, it still doesn’t reach Silvercrest’s 15 hours. For 399 CZK, you get a more balanced product overall with better features.
