It’s an attractive price for a Surface with an ARM processor and AI capabilities – but before you click “buy,” it’s fair to say that this model comes with a few compromises you should be aware of.

Surface Pro 12″ weighs just 685 grams in an all-metal construction – it’s one of the lightest Windows tablets on the market. The PixelSense LCD display with a resolution of 2196 × 1464 in a 3:2 aspect ratio is sharp and pleasant for working with documents. The 8-core Snapdragon X Plus processor runs without a fan, making the tablet completely silent. Additionally, there’s 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, an integrated NPU with 45 TOPS performance for Windows Copilot+ AI features, and a battery lasting around 16–17 hours. The iconic 165° kickstand allows the display to be adjusted to virtually any angle.

Compromises worth knowing

The lower price comes with a trade-off. Firstly: the charger is not included – only a USB-C cable. You will need a USB-C adapter with a minimum output of 27 W (USB Power Delivery is recommended). Secondly: the storage is UFS (256 GB), not SSD – this is a slower technology that Microsoft chose for cost savings. The LCD display is good quality but doesn’t reach the level of the OLED panel found in the more expensive 13″ 2024 model. The fanless design means silent operation, but in more demanding tests, performance lags behind laptops with the same processor that have active cooling. And of course – the keyboard and Surface Slim Pen stylus are sold separately.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

The Surface Pro 12″ for 20,909 CZK is a tablet for a specific customer: someone who needs an extremely portable Windows device for office work, meetings, notes, and lighter multitasking. Its silent operation, all-day battery life, and weight under 700g make it an ideal travel companion. However, it’s important to factor in that the total investment will be higher – a keyboard costs an additional 3–4 thousand CZK, and you’ll also need a charger. If you’re looking for a more powerful alternative with an OLED display and a keyboard included, check out competing models like the Asus ProArt PZ13 – but these are usually higher priced. The Surface Pro 12″ remains an interesting choice for fans of the Microsoft ecosystem who want a tablet with full Windows and AI features at a reasonable price.
