Looking for cheap noise-cancelling headphones? AlzaPower Mesa ANC in black dropped below 700 CZK for the first time

Over 5,000 units of Alza’s AlzaPower Mesa ANC have been sold, and you can currently buy them in an excellent promotion. With code ALZADNY30, they currently cost 699 CZK instead of the usual 1,390 CZK, and in addition to ANC, you’ll also appreciate up to 55 hours of battery life and a travel pouch. It’s also interesting that the black variant has never been this cheap (and the white one has significantly approached its historical low).

💡 For 699 CZK you get up to 55 hours of battery life, connection to two devices simultaneously, and a three-year warranty.

Never cost less in black

Alza lists 1,390 CZK as the regular price for the headphones. With code ALZADNY30, you can now get them for 699 CZK, which is 691 CZK cheaper, corresponding to roughly a half-price discount.

What can headphones for seven hundred do?

The closed earcups fully enclose the ear, and active noise cancellation with a pair of microphones is said by Alza to dampen ambient noise by up to 43 dB. When you need to hear announcements at the station or a colleague at your desk, you switch to transparent mode with a button. Sound is handled by 40mm neodymium drivers, and connectivity is provided by Bluetooth 5.4 with AAC and SBC codecs.

Multipoint, i.e., connecting to two devices simultaneously, is practical. You’re watching a movie on your laptop, your phone rings, and you answer the call with a double press of a button, without having to switch anything. A gaming mode with lower latency is suitable for games and videos.

The manufacturer states a battery life of up to 55 hours, or 30 hours with ANC enabled, so the headphones can handle a week of commuting on a single charge. Recharging via USB-C takes about two hours, but a charging adapter is not included in the package. The headphones weigh 260 grams, have IPX4 protection against sweat and rain, and can be folded into the included pouch. A 3.5mm cable is also included, but ANC turns off during wired listening.

Buyers praise price and battery life, take ANC with a grain of salt

On Alza, Mesa ANC have 4.5 out of 5 stars from 395 ratings and are recommended by 88% of customers. There are 200 written reviews, and the return rate remains at 2.16%. People most often highlight the price-performance ratio, long battery life, and reliably functioning multipoint. The transparent mode also receives praise, and several buyers compare the sound to cheaper Sony headphones.

Reservations mainly revolve around ANC. According to reviews, it handles traffic noise or air conditioning well, but it dampens the voices of colleagues and fellow travelers only slightly, and some people complain that it is sensitive to shocks when walking. The sound is significantly bass-heavy out of the box, so it’s worth using an equalizer on your phone. According to buyers, they sound noticeably worse via the 3.5mm jack than via Bluetooth or a USB-C cable. For some, the headphones fit all day, while others find them uncomfortable after a while, and a dedicated app is missing.

When is it worth paying extra?

If you need to silence a noisy open-plan office or boisterous children on a train, cheap ANC might not be enough, and you’ll be happier with more expensive models from Sony or Bose. The same applies to demanding listeners who want balanced sound without equalizer tuning, and for anyone who primarily wants to use headphones via cable.

Who will be happy with them for 699 CZK?

Mesa ANC will be especially appreciated by those who commute daily by public transport, work in an office, or occasionally fly and want to escape the noise without significant expense. They will also serve well as a second pair for your backpack, which you won’t have to worry about. For 699 CZK with code ALZADNY30, you also get a three-year warranty, and Alza promises immediate replacement for a new item at a branch in case of a defect for most AlzaPower products.
