MacBook Pro with M5 chip dropped to its lowest price! It offers excellent performance, even for AI, a beautiful display, and superb craftsmanship

Last autumn, Apple didn’t change a single screw on the MacBook Pro’s chassis – same design, same ports, same weight. However, a quiet revolution took place inside. The M5 chip elevates the entry-level professional MacBook to an entirely different league, especially in graphics and AI.

The base M5 has the same configuration as the M4 – a 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU, 16-core Neural Engine. The difference lies in the details: a third-generation 3nm process and, most importantly, a Neural Accelerator in every GPU core. The result? Graphics performance increased by 60–70%, and AI performance more than doubled according to tests. Gaming on the entry-level MacBook Pro is also finally realistic – Cyberpunk 2077 runs playable with MetalFX frame interpolation.

The display remains a 14.2″ Liquid Retina XDR with a resolution of 3024 × 1964 px and 120Hz ProMotion. The battery easily lasts all day. What hasn’t improved? We still only have Thunderbolt 4 (not 5) and Wi-Fi 6E instead of 7. And the charging adapter is now missing from the package, but in return, the MacBook’s price dropped by a few thousand crowns generation-over-generation.

The MacBook Pro 14″ M5 started at 45,990 CZK, according to Heureka, you can now get it from 41,009 CZK. By Apple’s standards, this is a solid price/performance ratio – especially if you’re using an M2 or older model.

So, if you want a solid work laptop with high performance, a tasteful appearance, a nice display, probably the best speakers in its class, and last but not least, a comfortable trackpad, the MacBook Pro with M5 is a decent choice at its current price. It’s worth noting that new MacBook Pros with M5 Pro and M5 Max chips are expected in a few weeks, but those will be in a completely different price bracket.
