MagSafe power banks are usually an expensive affair, and for branded models, expect an investment of over a thousand CZK. However, with code ALZADNY40, the ChoeTech MagLeap is available for 599 CZK, which is an interesting offer for a 10,000mAh model with a magnet, built-in cable, and display.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you have an iPhone 12 or newer with MagSafe and want a compact backup without carrying cables.
⚠️ Consider that wireless charging is slower and less efficient – for maximum speed, you’ll still reach for the built-in USB-C cable.
💡 For 599 CZK, you get what premium brands charge 1,000 CZK or more for – but with the typical compromises of a cheaper brand.

Three charging methods and a built-in cable

The main trick of this power bank is the combination of three ways to charge a phone. For iPhones, it offers MagSafe wireless charging with 15 W output, where the phone magnetically attaches to the back of the power bank and starts charging wirelessly. For Androids or when you want maximum speed, there’s a built-in USB-C cable with 18 W output, which also doubles as a handy stand. And for a third device (headphones, a partner’s second phone), a separate USB-C output with a maximum of 20 W is available.

The built-in cable is a significantly underestimated feature in practice. Anyone who has ever gone on vacation and forgotten their USB-C cable at home knows what I’m talking about. Here, you have the cable permanently attached to the power bank, and it also functions as its stand – you can comfortably place your phone on your nightstand and watch YouTube while it charges.

How many phones you can actually charge

From the theoretical 10,000 mAh capacity, due to voltage conversion losses, you’ll get approximately 6,500 mAh of usable capacity. With wireless MagSafe charging, losses are even more significant (typically 30–40%), so expect to charge an iPhone roughly 1× to full via the magnet. With a cable, it will be much better – one user on Alza confirms that they can charge an iPhone 16 approximately twice to 90% via USB-C.

For multi-day trips without an outlet, opt for a larger 20,000mAh model instead. The power bank complies with aviation regulations (37 Wh, the limit is 100 Wh), so you can easily take it in your carry-on luggage on board an airplane.

What’s good to know beforehand

Several practical details emerge from user reviews on Alza. Firstly – wireless charging doesn’t start automatically; you need to press a button. This isn’t a defect, but it’s good to know. Secondly – the plastic lacquered surface scratches easily, so if you carry the power bank with keys in your backpack, expect it not to look new after a few months.

What’s pleasing at this price point, however, is the LED display with precise capacity indication in percentages – not four dots like most competitors, but a specific number. And the magnet holds really firmly, so the iPhone won’t slip off the power bank even when walking in your pocket.

Do you prefer wireless charging with your power bank, or do you still reach for a cable for speed?
