The popular service Mapy.com brings another clever improvement to its subscribers, this time concerning the trip planning feature. The Trip Around tool, which can independently plan a walking, cycling, or cross-country skiing route with a start and end point at your current location, can now adapt the route to other sports activities as well.

Route planning for various sports activities

Personally, I really liked the Trip Around feature as a cyclist – when I came home in the afternoon, the weather was nice, and I wanted to go for a two or three-hour ride, I had a route of my preferred length planned in no time. Similarly, this tool could facilitate planning a walk or a cross-country skiing trip.

Mapy.com can now also plan routes for runners or parents with sports strollers, and since the last update, cyclists can have a route specifically designed for gravel created. Owners of sports scooters should also pay attention, as the Trip Around feature can now take them into account too.

Disadvantage? Advanced modes require a subscription

The only obvious disadvantage so far seems to be the necessity of having Mapy.com subscribed. The service currently offers only one package priced at 249 CZK per year, providing 7 days for a free trial.

Users primarily subscribe to Mapy.com for extended access to offline maps or the ability to use the application on Apple Watch smartwatches or Wear OS models. However, other benefits are also available, such as the HorizontAR feature for recognizing mountain and hill peaks in augmented reality mode.
