Xiaomi is preparing to send two Chinese “beasts” to Europe under new names – and even before they could officially introduce them, their almost complete specifications leaked online. According to the leak, POCO F9 Pro and F9 Ultra will arrive with Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, a 200Mpx camera, and 100W charging, differing mainly in size and cameras.

New models will get Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and a frequency of up to 185 Hz

Renders and parameters of both models were first published by the German website WinFuture and subsequently picked up by other servers. POCO F9 Pro is apparently a re-branded Redmi K100 Pro, while F9 Ultra is based on the Redmi K100 Pro Max – however, Xiaomi will opt for smaller batteries in the European versions. The fact that the duo is heading to Europe was already indicated by earlier certifications, which we wrote about at the end of July.

Both phones have a lot in common. Performance in both cases is expected to be handled by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip with a frequency of up to 4.6 GHz, accompanied by 12 or 16 GB of RAM and 256 or 512 GB of non-expandable storage. The displays are said to have been developed in cooperation with supplier TCL CSOT and are capable of handling a refresh rate of up to 185 Hz and a peak brightness of 4500 nits. The front glass will be Gorilla Glass 7i, the frame is metal, and the back is covered by glass fiber-reinforced plastic. Also expected are IP69 resistance, 100W charging, and a 32 Mpx selfie camera on the front.

Bose speaker will once again be on the back of the Ultra

POCO is keeping its feature from last year for the more expensive model: one of the speakers, tuned by Bose, is again located on the back of the phone, right next to the cameras. Unfortunately, the cheaper model will not offer it, according to the renders. Another exclusive feature of the Ultra is expected to be an LED ring for notifications.

Displays, cameras, and batteries: how Pro and Ultra differ

POCO F9 Pro will offer a 6.59″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1156 × 2510 pixels. The photographic equipment is expected to be based on a 200Mpx main sensor with optical stabilization, complemented by a 50Mpx telephoto lens with approximately 2.5x optical zoom and an 8Mpx ultrawide camera. Power will be supplied by a 6330 mAh battery, and the entire device is expected to weigh 206 grams. The phone will be available in a version with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage.

The more expensive F9 Ultra will grow to 6.9″ with a resolution of 1200 × 2608 pixels, but shares the refresh rate and brightness with the Pro. The main difference is in the zoom: instead of a classic telephoto lens, there will be a 50Mpx periscope with 5x optical zoom, complemented by a full-fledged 50Mpx ultrawide camera. The battery will increase to 8050 mAh, and the weight to 235 grams. The Ultra is expected to be sold in a configuration of 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage.

Let’s note that, not surprisingly, the European versions are expected to receive significantly smaller batteries than their Chinese counterparts, the Redmi K100 Pro and Pro Max.

How much will the POCO F9 models cost?

The price seems to be the least certain aspect of the entire leak. The POCO F9 Pro is expected to cost “at least” 799 euros, which is approximately 19,700 CZK after conversion, while the manufacturer will reportedly ask “at least” 999 euros for the F9 Ultra, i.e., around 24,700 CZK. When exactly the duo will appear in Europe is not yet known, but it is almost certain that we will see both phones in our market.

Personally, I find the color options very interesting. The leaked renders show both phones in matte finishes – specifically in black, white, green, and red.

Would you opt for the feature-packed Ultra, or is the cheaper POCO F9 Pro enough for you?
