MediaTek Dimensity 9500 unveiled! Up to 55% lower power consumption under load, boasts significant performance increase Home News MediaTek unveiled its flagship Dimensity 9500 chipset with up to 32% higher performance The new processor will offer 8K video support at 60 fps and cameras up to 320 Mpx The first phones with Dimensity 9500 will arrive soon, the Vivo X300 will be revealed next month Sdílejte: Adam Kurfürst Published: 22. 9. 2025 14:30 Advertisement Taiwanese chipset manufacturer MediaTek today officially unveiled its latest flagship processor, the Dimensity 9500. The new product brings significant improvements in performance, energy efficiency, and artificial intelligence capabilities. The first smartphones featuring this chipset will appear soon. More Powerful, Yet More Efficient The MediaTek Dimensity 9500 utilizes the third generation All Big Core architecture, which combines one ultra-powerful core with a frequency of up to 4.21 GHz, three premium cores, and four performance cores. All cores are designed for maximum performance; therefore, you won’t find any efficiency cores here, which were previously standard even in flagship chips. Compared to the previous generation, the chipset offers 32% higher single-core performance and 17% faster multi-core performance. More interesting than the performance increase itself, however, is the improvement in energy efficiency. The ultra-core can reduce power consumption by up to 55% under maximum load, which in practice will ensure longer battery life. When multitasking between games and social applications, the processor is expected to be 30% more efficient than its predecessor. Artificial Intelligence Directly on Your Phone At the heart of AI capabilities is the new NPU 990 unit, which delivers twice the computational power compared to the previous generation. This allows it to process large language models with 3 billion parameters 100% faster and handle texts up to 128 thousand tokens (approximately 96 thousand words) in length. It is also the first on the market to support generating images in 4K resolution directly on the phone. Furthermore, MediaTek has integrated a new Super Efficient NPU technology, which allows AI models to run continuously with minimal power consumption. This paves the way for smarter features that can actively assist users throughout the day. Significant Increase in Graphics Performance For gamers, the new Arm G1-Ultra graphics unit is key, offering 33% higher peak performance with 42% better energy efficiency. The chipset supports ray tracing at 120 FPS and can process advanced graphical effects from the Unreal Engine 5.6, including MegaLights technology for realistic lighting. Photos and Video Without Compromise The Dimensity 9500 can process images from cameras with resolutions up to 320 megapixels and supports recording 8K video at 60 frames per second. For regular shooting, it offers 4K at 120 fps with image stabilization or a cinematic mode in 4K resolution at 60 fps. The new portrait engine enhances portrait photography and allows recording portrait videos in 4K quality. Fastest Memory and Connectivity MediaTek is the first on the market to implement support for 4-channel UFS 4.1 storage, which doubles data read and write speeds. Loading large AI models is therefore 40% faster. The chipset supports the latest Wi-Fi 7 standards with transfer speeds up to 7.3 Gbps and Bluetooth 6.0 with a dual engine for more stable connectivity. MediaTek Dimensity 9500 unveiled! Additionally, AI technologies help reduce 5G power consumption by 10% and Wi-Fi power consumption by as much as 20%. When Can We Expect the First Phones? The first smartphones with the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor will appear before the end of this year, but it remains to be seen whether they will reach our market by next year. Among the first devices will be new products from the Vivo X300 series, which will arrive on the Chinese market as early as October 13. However, MediaTek will not have a free run in the market. Tomorrow, competitor Qualcomm will unveil its new flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, which is expected to power, for example, the anticipated Xiaomi 17 series. Moreover, it will be unveiled this Thursday. Are you looking forward to phones with the new MediaTek Dimensity 9500 processor?
