This is the first (or rather, second, if we count the original Ray-Ban Stories) generation; Meta recently introduced Gen2 with 3K video and better battery life. Camera, AI, and speakers in glasses

The ultra-wide 12Mpx camera captures the scene as you see it – without pulling out your phone. Five microphones ensure high-quality sound during video calls. The Meta AI assistant responds to “Hey Meta” and helps with translations, information about your surroundings, or notes, but you will need a VPN to activate it due to restrictions. Open speakers replace headphones – you hear music and your surroundings simultaneously.

Battery life is approximately 4 hours, and the charging case provides an additional 8 charges. Control is via voice or a touch panel on the temple. Bluetooth ensures connection to the phone, and charging is via USB-C.

Limited functions in the EU

On Alza, the glasses have a rating of 4.0 out of 5 from 7 customers, but only 57% recommend them – which is below average. The reason? In the EU, some AI functions are limited compared to the American version.

The quality of daytime video and photos, ease of use, and the fact that they replace headphones are praised.
