If you have an Android and envy iPhone owners their AirTags, the Motorola Moto Tag is on Alza for 671 Kč with code ALZADNY15. It’s the same size as an AirTag (it even fits its cases), supports UWB for precise short-range searching, and works via the Google Find My network. Rated 4.4 out of 5 with 67 reviews and over 500 units sold — but before you buy it, read where it works and where it doesn’t.

Quick summary:
It makes sense as a locator for keys, wallets, or luggage in the city — where there are enough Android phones around in the Google Find My network.
⚠️ Consider that outside the city (villages, nature, cottages) the Google Find My network practically doesn’t work — the locator reports the last known location, which can be kilometers away.
💡 For 671 Kč you get Bluetooth 5.4, UWB, IP67 water resistance, a replaceable CR2032 battery for a year, and audible signaling.

Where it works and where it doesn’t

This is key information you won’t find in the marketing description. The Google Find My network works by detecting Bluetooth signals from surrounding Android phones — but most users have a default setting that connects their phone to the network only in areas with a high concentration of other devices. In practice, this means that the Moto Tag works reliably in the city — users on Alza report location updates at the airport every half hour and precise UWB guidance with an arrow and distance in meters.

Outside the city, it’s a different story. One user writes that their car in the garage reports its last location 6 km away in the forest. Another summarizes: “For a pet collar or a stolen bike outside the city — completely hopeless.” This is not the Moto Tag’s fault, but a limitation of the entire Google network compared to the much more widespread Apple Find My network. If you live in the city and want a locator for keys, a wallet, or a suitcase — it works great. For a cottage or in nature, unfortunately, it’s not a reliable solution.

The hardware itself is fine

Dimensions 31.9 × 31.9 × 8 mm correspond to the size of an AirTag — it fits into AirTag cases and keychains. IP67 resistance means immersion in water for 30 minutes. The CR2032 battery lasts a year and is replaceable. UWB allows for precise guidance with a directional arrow on phones with a UWB chip. Besides finding items, the Moto Tag can also ring a lost phone and function as a remote camera shutter. However, pairing can sometimes be frustrating according to reviewers — it usually works on the second or third attempt.

Do you use a Bluetooth locator — AirTag, Moto Tag, or something else?
