Robotic lawnmowers without the need for boundary wire installation or RTK antenna setup usually start above 25 thousand. However, you can now buy the MOVA LiDAX Ultra 800 with code ALZADNY10 for 19 791 Kč instead of 21 990 Kč. For this price, you get 360° LiDAR navigation, an AI camera, and a virtual boundary system via the app — a category that until recently belonged exclusively to the premium segment. You can find current availability and price directly in the product details on Alza.

Quick summary:
Makes sense if you have a garden up to 800 m² and don’t want to spend weekends laying boundary wire — MOVA can do without it.
⚠️ Consider if you have a garden with dense vegetation where LiDAR doesn’t see clearly, or if you want 4G tracking against theft (Link module is optional).
💡 For 19 791 Kč, you get AI recognition of over 300 obstacles, wireless installation, and IPX6 resistance. A unique combination in this price category.

Why this lawnmower is interesting

The main advantage of the MOVA LiDAX Ultra 800 is installation without a boundary wire and without RTK beacons. For traditional robotic lawnmowers, deployment means several hours of laying cable around the garden. For RTK systems (e.g., Husqvarna EPOS), it is necessary to install an antenna with a clear view of the sky. MOVA solves all this internally: a 360° 3D LiDAR and an AI camera with 1080p resolution create a 3D map of the garden with centimeter accuracy in a few minutes.

The second advantage is independence from GPS signal. The lawnmower works even under trees, in twilight, or on cloudy days when RTK systems often lose accuracy. The manufacturer states that the LiDAR has a range of up to 70 meters with standard reflectivity — thus with a reserve for a garden up to 800 m².

The UltraView 2.0 system combines data from LiDAR and the AI camera in real time. According to the manufacturer, the lawnmower can recognize over 300 types of obstacles — from garden furniture to pets, toys, and garden hoses. For pet owners, the Animal-Friendly Mode is crucial, with lower speed in animal movement zones and a “Do-Not-Disturb” mode.

Route planning takes place in the form of U-Shape Path Planning — the lawnmower systematically traverses the lawn in a “U” shape, so it doesn’t miss any spots. A total of five modes are available: full area mowing, zone mowing, edge mowing, spot mowing, and manual control. For edges, UltraTrim 1.0 with a movable cutting disc is used, which mows up to 5 cm from walls and bushes.

Key parameters in practice

The lawnmower works with a 20 cm cutting width, and the cutting height can be continuously adjusted in the range of 30–100 mm. This is a significantly wider range than with conventional robots (typically 30–60 mm) — suitable for maintaining various types of lawns according to the season. The 18 V, 4 Ah battery offers a runtime of 60–80 minutes on a single charge, with charging from zero taking 60 minutes.

For uneven terrain, MOVA has off-road rear-wheel drive wheels and can handle slopes of up to 45% (24°). It overcomes obstacles up to 4 cm in height without problems. The floating cutting deck adapts to uneven terrain, reducing the risk of damage to the machine on a bumpy garden. Passage through narrow areas is possible from 60 cm width.

MOVAhome app and zone management

All control takes place via the MOVAhome app. Here you set virtual boundaries, define forbidden zones (ponds, flowerbeds, children’s playgrounds), and create mowing schedules. The Dual-Map function allows you to manage two separate properties — for example, a front and back garden — with up to 150 independent zones.

For those who want to aestheticize their lawn, the app offers switchable mowing patterns: Crisscross, Chequerboard, and Custom. In practice, this means you can have your own pattern “mowed” into the lawn. The dual mowing schedule (spring/summer and autumn/winter) automatically adjusts the mowing frequency to seasonal growth changes.

TrueGuard: 24/7 security features

The TrueGuard function transforms the lawnmower into a mobile security camera. When the lawnmower is not mowing, it monitors its surroundings using the AI camera and alerts you if it detects human activity in the garden. In the app, you can watch live video feed, speak to people nearby through the lawnmower’s speaker, and in auto-patrol mode, the lawnmower itself traverses the garden at night.

In case of theft, a lift sensor with a loud alarm and a slot for an Apple AirTag are available. Optionally, a Link Module with 4G connectivity for 6 101 Kč can be purchased for real-time tracking via Google Maps even without Wi-Fi. For the Ultra 800 variant, the Link Module is optional; for higher models, it is free.

Quiet operation and maintenance

Noise level during mowing does not exceed 57 dB — comparable to a quiet dishwasher. In practice, this means the lawnmower does not bother neighbors or you while relaxing on the terrace. IPX6 water resistance allows the lawnmower to be simply rinsed with a garden hose after work — no careful wiping.

In case of rain, the lawnmower automatically returns to the charging station thanks to its rain sensor and resumes work once the weather improves. In the package, in addition to the lawnmower and charging station, you will also find 9 spare cutting blades and a cleaning brush.

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

For 19 791 Kč, you get a wireless robotic lawnmower with technologies that just a year ago were exclusively in the segment above 30 thousand. The combination of LiDAR + AI camera, 45% slope handling, 300+ obstacle recognition, IPX6 resistance, and the TrueGuard security system makes it one of the most technologically advanced choices in its price class. For owners of gardens up to 800 m² who don’t want to deal with laying wire, it is one of the most sensible entries into the world of wireless robotics.

If this particular model didn’t appeal to you, but you are looking for a robotic lawnmower on sale, you can also check out the current Alza Days, where other discounted garden equipment models continuously appear.
