Netatmo Smart Thermostat with code ALZADNY40 is now 2 879 Kč, which is a price at which it already makes sense to try it – even with the knowledge that no Netatmo is eternal.

Quick summary:
It makes sense if you want to control your boiler from your phone and have Apple Home, Google, or Alexa.
⚠️ Consider if you expect a device to last 10 years – e-ink displays repeatedly fail after 2–3 years in reviews.
💡 For 2 879 Kč, however, you get a ticket to smart heating for half the original price.

Why Netatmo makes sense at this price

Netatmo is compatible with the vast majority of gas, electric, and condensing boilers and heat pumps – you can verify this at https://check.netatmo.com before purchase. Installation is wireless, so you don’t have to fix it to the wall; you can simply place it on a table or move it between rooms. It also works independently; you don’t need to buy additional radiator valves (and according to reviews, you probably shouldn’t – they are expensive and more prone to failure than the thermostat itself).

The main draw is full integration into all three main ecosystems – Apple Home, Google Assistant, and Amazon Alexa. The Auto-Adapt function monitors the outdoor temperature and the thermal inertia of the house, so after a few days, it automatically learns when to start heating to reach the set 21 °C in the kitchen by 7 AM. You can track consumption in the app’s graph; the manufacturer promises savings of up to 25 %.

What to watch out for

Reviews on Alza don’t lie: e-ink displays tend to fail after 2–3 years. The thermostat continues to function normally; you control it via the app, but you simply won’t be able to see the display. Furthermore, Netatmo support is essentially unusable after the warranty expires – the only official way is to send the device to France. However, at 2 879 Kč, you approach it differently than at five thousand.

Second point – for full functionality, you need the relay that is included in the package, but be aware that someone experienced must connect the cables to the boiler. Handy people can manage it themselves with instructions; for others, it’s a job for an electrician. The Home + Control app is in Czech, and pairing via 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi works without issues.

Do you consider a smart thermostat an entry into automation, or are classic radiator valves sufficient for you?
