Amazfit introduced the Active 3 Premium model at the end of February, and it arrived in Czech stores in early March for 4,290 CZK. You can now find it on Heureka from 3,775 CZK – which is a discount of over 500 CZK for a product that has only been on the market for a few weeks. If you are interested in the current availability of individual color variants, you can find an overview of offers on Heureka.

Quick Summary:
Makes sense if you are looking for running watches with detailed analytics, offline maps, and premium construction at a mid-range price.
⚠️ Consider if you specifically need running features – for basic fitness tracking, there are cheaper alternatives.
💡 For 3,775 CZK you get sapphire glass, stainless steel, and GPS with maps – parameters that cost significantly more with competitors.

Why these watches are interesting

Amazfit Active 3 Premium targets runners of all levels – from beginners preparing for their first 5K to those training for a marathon. Compared to regular fitness watches, they offer detailed running metrics including lactate threshold measurement, ground contact time, and running technique analysis.

The construction combines stainless steel and sapphire glass – materials typically found in significantly more expensive models from competitors. A weight of 54.6 g including the strap (less than a dozen A4 sheets) ensures the watch doesn’t interfere with running.

Key parameters: display, GPS, battery life

The display has a diagonal of 1.32″ with AMOLED technology and a resolution of 466 × 466 px (353 PPI). A maximum brightness of 3,000 nits ensures readability even in direct sunlight – which is crucial for running watches. Sapphire glass protects the display from scratches by branches or accidental impacts.

GPS supports six satellite systems for precise positioning. The main advantage is free offline maps with turn-by-turn navigation – you can run without your phone and still keep track of your route. If you deviate from the planned path, the watch will automatically recalculate the route.

Battery life is up to 12 days with typical use. Charging is magnetic and takes approximately 2 hours. Water resistance corresponds to the 5 ATM standard – the watch can handle swimming, but not diving.

Running features: coach, metrics, shoe tracking

The Zepp Coach function serves as an AI coach – it creates personalized training plans based on your fitness and target distance (5 km, 10 km, half marathon, marathon). Plans are continuously updated based on your performance and recovery.

The watch measures lactate threshold and calculates optimal training zones based on it. During a run, it provides real-time advice on when to speed up or maintain pace. Over 170 sports modes are available, and you can display up to six metrics simultaneously.

An interesting feature is automatic running shoe wear tracking. The watch measures the distance run in individual pairs and updates their status in the Zepp app – so you know when it’s time to replace your shoes.

Health features and connectivity

Health features include heart rate measurement (optical PPG sensor), blood oxygen saturation, sleep analysis, and stress tracking. The BioCharge function shows the body’s current energy reserves, while RestoreIQ monitors recovery quality based on HRV and sleep data.

The watch supports Bluetooth 5.3 calls directly from the wrist (it has both a speaker and a microphone) and NFC payments via Zepp Pay. In the Czech Republic, it works with Mastercard cards from mBank, Raiffeisenbank, and Curve – support for other banks should be added in the coming months.

Compatibility includes Android 7.0+ and iOS 15.0+. All settings and analyses are performed in the Zepp app.

When it doesn’t make sense

If you are not specifically looking for running features (training plans, lactate threshold, technique analysis), there are cheaper alternatives for basic fitness tracking. For example, Amazfit Active 2 or GTS 4 Mini offer similar battery life and health features at a lower price.

For extreme outdoor activities (high-altitude hiking, diving, extreme cold), models like Amazfit T-Rex Ultra 2 with higher durability are more suitable – but also come with a significantly higher price.

And if you are used to the Garmin ecosystem and its sophisticated training features, switching to Amazfit might mean compromises in some advanced metrics – even though the price difference is significant (a comparable Garmin Forerunner costs 2–3 times more).

Verdict: who it’s worth it for

Amazfit Active 3 Premium are watches for runners who want structured training with detailed analytics but don’t want to pay the premium prices of brands like Garmin or Polar. For 3,775 CZK, you get sapphire glass, stainless steel construction, GPS with offline maps, and 12-day battery life.

The fact that the watch dropped in price by over 500 CZK within its first month on the market makes it an even more attractive offer. This is a new product with current hardware and software – not a clearance sale of an older model. Three color variants are available: white (Aero White), silver with a black strap (Apex Silver), and silver with a blue strap (Atlas Blue).

Do you use a smartwatch for running, or is basic fitness tracking enough for you?
