The new models are available in two variants for lawns of 400 m² and 600 m². Navigation with Nvidia Artificial Intelligence At the heart of the Vision AI system is the Jetson module from Nvidia, one of the leading suppliers of chips for training artificial intelligence. This powerful hardware ensures rapid detection of lawn edges and real-time object recognition. The camera works in conjunction with GPS-RTK satellite navigation for maximum movement precision. Thanks to advanced image processing, the lawnmower can distinguish between different types of objects. While it will easily drive over fallen leaves, it recognizes branches or toys on the lawn as obstacles and automatically navigates around them. All camera recordings remain stored exclusively within the lawnmower and cannot be accessed via the cloud. Installation Without a Guide Wire A key advantage of the new generation is the absence of a guide wire. To get started, simply place the charging station in the garden and connect the lawnmower to the Gardena Smart App via Wi-Fi or mobile network. In its press release, the manufacturer states that thanks to the integrated SIM card, mobile connectivity is free for the entire lifetime (however, it did not provide further details on how this system works). New Gardena robotic lawnmower relies on artificial intelligence. It has an Nvidia chip and an integrated SIM card Adam Kurfürst News Adam Kurfürst News Upon first startup, the user guides the lawnmower along the edges of the lawn using the app as a remote control. The robotic lawnmower remembers the boundaries of the mowed area and gradually learns and adapts to the current conditions in the garden. Precise Mowing Up to the Edges The Trim-to-Edge function allows for close-to-edge mowing thanks to the rear placement of the cutting unit. When the lawnmower approaches a wall or fence, it turns and moves smoothly along the obstacle, mowing the grass right up to the very edge. The system recognizes various types of edges, including flower beds, paving, walls, or fences. Smart Features and App Control LONA Intelligence technology enables lawn mapping and its division into zones with individual mowing frequency settings. The Gardena-assisted mode automatically adjusts the mowing schedule according to meteorological data and grass growth rate without the need for manual intervention. The lawnmower offers the option to choose between an irregular or parallel mowing pattern. The SpotCut function allows for targeted mowing of a specific area. The equipment also includes PIN code protection against theft and the possibility of washing with a hose. Technical Specifications Smart Sileno Sense robotic lawnmowers operate with a noise level of 57 dB, comparable to a normal conversation. They can handle slopes with an inclination of up to 25% and offer an adjustable cutting height from 25 to 45 mm. The cutting system consists of a disc blade with three blades. Operation requires mobile network or Wi-Fi coverage with internet access, GPS signal reception, and daylight for the camera to function. Upon registration on the Gardena website, users receive a three-year warranty (batteries and chargers are excluded from the warranty). Price and Availability Gardena has not yet revealed when exactly the Smart Sileno Sense models will hit the market or how much they will cost. However, some lawnmowers of this brand are sold in our market, so there is a chance that we will encounter the new models on the shelves of local stores someday. Would you welcome a robotic lawnmower that doesn’t need a guide wire?
