The Garmin Venu 4 smartwatch in the more compact 41mm variant has received its first significant discount. The black version with a black silicone strap now costs 12,217 CZK instead of the original 13,490 CZK, representing a discount of 1,273 CZK. This is the first major price reduction since the launch of this model last month.

AMOLED Display and Decent Battery Life

The Garmin Venu 4 features an AMOLED display with an optional always-on mode. The smaller 41mm version is suitable for wrist circumferences of 125-190 mm, which will be appreciated especially by users with smaller wrists. The display is protected by durable Corning Gorilla Glass 3, and the case combines stainless steel with fiber-reinforced polymer.

Battery life reaches up to 12 days in smartwatch mode; with the always-on display enabled, it lasts 4 days. In power-saving mode, battery life extends to 25 days. When using GPS with music playback, the watch functions for 9 hours, and with GPS only, up to 20 hours.

Advanced Health Features Including ECG

The watch offers continuous heart rate monitoring using the Garmin Elevate sensor, a pulse oximeter for measuring blood oxygen saturation, and support for the Garmin ECG app for electrocardiogram readings. Also included is the measurement of respiration rate, stress, and skin temperature.

Garmin has implemented advanced sleep tracking with Sleep Score, which analyzes rest quality. The Body Battery feature displays the body’s energy level throughout the day, while Health Snapshot provides a quick overview of all health metrics at once. The watch can also measure heart rate variability (HRV) and offers a jet lag adviser.

Sports Profiles and Animated Workouts

The Venu 4 supports over 30 sports profiles, including running, cycling, swimming, golf, yoga, and strength training. The watch is water-resistant to 5 ATM, so you can swim with it. It includes multi-band GPS with support for GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou systems for accurate route tracking.

An interesting feature is animated workouts directly on the watch display, which show the correct execution of exercises. The watch automatically counts repetitions during strength training and offers daily recommended workouts for running, cycling, walking, and fitness based on your current form. The Training Readiness feature evaluates whether your body is ready for the next load.

New to this generation of Venu is the My Habits Diary feature, where you can record your own or pre-set daily habits (such as caffeine or alcohol intake). Garmin also focused on improving sleep tracking and, with the Health Status feature, monitors whether your HRV, heart rate, or other metrics deviate from the normal range.

Smart Features for Everyday Use

The watch allows for calling and messaging using the built-in microphone and speaker when paired with a phone. It supports Garmin Pay contactless payments and has 8 GB of storage for downloading music from services like Spotify or Deezer. This time, it even offers an LED flashlight, which can be practical for night activities.

The Venu 4 displays smart notifications from your phone, allows music control, and includes safety features such as incident detection with automatic location sharing to contacts or the Live Event Sharing feature for sharing your position during activities. The watch connects via Bluetooth, ANT+, and Wi-Fi, supporting Connect IQ apps to extend functionality.

Who are the Garmin Venu 4 suitable for?

The compact 41mm version of the Garmin Venu 4 is primarily suitable for users with smaller wrists who are looking for a full-featured smartwatch with an emphasis on health and fitness. It will be appreciated by active athletes who want to track their workouts in detail but also need a watch for everyday wear with long battery life.

With a discount to 12,217 CZK, the Venu 4 represents an interesting alternative to more expensive models in the Forerunner or fenix series. They offer many of their features in a more elegant design with an AMOLED display, which is also suitable for more formal occasions. For less demanding athletes, they are generally more suitable watches.
