CMF, a sub-brand of Nothing, today introduced its first over-ear headphones, the CMF Headphone Pro. Priced at 2,699 CZK, they bring not only an interesting modular design but, more importantly, several features not found in this price category. Most notably, they boast an unparalleled battery life of up to 100 hours and unique control via the Energy Slider.

Modularity as a path to personalization

CMF Headphone Pro relies on replaceable earcups, which allow changing not only the appearance but also the sound character. The headphones are available in three basic colors – light gray, dark gray, and light green. Separately, you can purchase earcups in orange or light green for 25 EUR (approximately 600 CZK).

Replacing earcups is not just a cosmetic matter. Different materials and constructions can affect acoustic properties, allowing you to customize the sound according to your preferences.

Energy Slider – a revolution in control

The most interesting new feature is the Energy Slider – a physical slider on the right earcup that allows real-time changes to the sound character. Sliding up enhances treble for clearer vocals and details, while sliding down boosts bass for more energy. It’s not a classic equalizer – CMF talks about “adapting the energy of the track”, suggesting a more sophisticated sound processing.

Next to the Energy Slider, we find a classic volume wheel, which also serves as a button for play/pause and ANC toggling. Additionally, there’s a programmable button to which you can assign functions like launching an assistant or spatial audio. Everything is tactile, physical – no imprecise touch surfaces.

One hundred hours without a charger

Battery life is a parameter where CMF Headphone Pro have no competition. Up to 100 hours of music playback or 50 hours of calls on a single charge are numbers that surpass even much more expensive models. With ANC enabled, the battery life still remains an excellent 50 hours.

High-level audio equipment

The hardware consists of 40mm drivers with nickel-plated diaphragms for lower distortion. CMF adds Hi-Res certification for both wired and wireless connections and support for the LDAC codec with a transfer rate of up to 990 kb/s. This means higher quality wireless transmission than standard SBC or AAC.

Hybrid adaptive ANC promises noise cancellation of up to 40 dB, which is comparable to the competition. The system automatically detects the level of ambient noise and adjusts the cancellation intensity. A transparency mode is also included for situations where you need to hear your surroundings.

Spatial audio and personalization

CMF implements spatial audio in two modes – theatrical expands the soundstage for movies with an emphasis on dialogue, concert simulates the atmosphere of a live performance. The Personalized Sound feature uses Audiodo technology to create a tailored sound profile.

All settings are controlled via the Nothing X app, available for both Android and iOS. In addition to the equalizer and ANC management, you’ll also find firmware updates and the option to customize button functions.

CMF Headphone Pro are available from today on nothing.tech and at selected retailers. For fans of Nothing/CMF design, they are a clear choice; others will appreciate the practical advantages – record-breaking battery life and intuitive controls.
