Nothing is preparing its first smart glasses! They will have cameras, microphones, and built-in AI Home News Nothing is reportedly preparing its own smart glasses with artificial intelligence, with launch expected in the first half of 2027 The glasses will be equipped with cameras, microphones, and speakers, but without a display – similar to Ray-Ban Meta Carl Pei's company is also simultaneously working on AI headphones, both are expected to feature Nothing's characteristic design Sdílejte: Jakub Kárník Published: 2. 4. 2026 14:30 Advertisement Transparent back covers, flashing LED notifications, and a design that people either love or don’t understand. In just a few years of existence, Nothing has managed to establish itself as a brand that does things differently. Now it wants to try its hand at smart glasses – and immediately pack artificial intelligence into them. Bloomberg: glasses to arrive in the first half of 2027 Transparent design even on the nose? Bold move, risky timing Bloomberg: glasses to arrive in the first half of 2027 The information was reported by journalist Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, citing sources familiar with the company’s plans. According to them, Nothing is working on glasses that will include cameras, microphones, and speakers, but no built-in display. Conceptually, it will be a device similar to Ray-Ban Meta – glasses that see and hear the surrounding world and process information using AI. All computations are to be handled by a connected phone and the cloud, with the glasses themselves serving primarily as input sensors and output via speakers. Nothing reportedly aims for automation of daily tasks and a more personalized user experience – what exactly this means in practice has not yet been specified. Transparent design even on the nose? One of the most interesting details of the report is that the glasses are expected to feature Nothing’s characteristic visual language. Since its inception, the brand has relied on transparent materials and aesthetics inspired by Teenage Engineering – and Bloomberg suggests that these elements will also be reflected in the design of the glasses. Whether this means translucent frames, Glyph interface elements, or something entirely different, is not yet clear. In addition to the glasses, Nothing also has AI headphones in development. The company has a strong position in the audio segment – its headphones are among the best-selling in the more affordable category – so extending with AI features makes sense. However, details are still missing. Bold move, risky timing Nothing has good prerequisites for entering the smart glasses segment. Its own ecosystem of phones that can power the glasses, experience with audio hardware, and a design that sets it apart from all others. However, there are still many months left until the first half of 2027. Meta is already selling the second generation of Ray-Ban glasses and is preparing models with in-lens displays. Google and Samsung are working on their own solutions, and according to speculation, Apple is also interested in smart glasses. When Nothing arrives on the market, it will have to compete against players with incomparably larger budgets and customer bases. In addition, there’s the question of privacy. Cameras in glasses have raised concerns since the days of Google Glass, and Meta is still struggling with this. Public opinion could shift in both directions by 2027 – either people will get used to glasses with cameras, or they will become a social faux pas. Nothing, in any case, is betting that an attractive design can overcome these concerns. Time will tell if that will be enough.
