Nvidia's best value GPU? The RTX 5060 Ti now costs only 8 thousand, but it has one catch

Looking for an affordable entry into the gaming world with NVIDIA RTX 50 series graphics cards? The MSI GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8G VENTUS 2X OC PLUS card has just dropped from 10,390 CZK to 7,990 CZK on Alza, making it the cheapest 5060 Ti you can find in the Czech Republic. At that price, it’s an attractive offer, but we’ll discuss one crucial “but” so you know what you’re getting into.

What the card offers for under eight thousand

Under the cooler lies the GB206 chip, built on the Blackwell architecture, NVIDIA’s latest generation of graphics cards. The card runs at a boost frequency of up to 2,617 MHz and relies on fast GDDR7 memory with an effective clock speed of 28 GHz. The main draw, however, is the software — DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, which can interpolate frames and significantly increase fluidity, plus fourth-generation ray tracing and Reflex 2 technology for lower latency in competitive games. In Full HD and QHD, you’ll be able to play the vast majority of current titles very well; indeed, Alza customers also praise the noticeable leap compared to older cards and full hardware acceleration in Adobe applications.

The VENTUS 2X OC PLUS design is a compact dual-slot card with STORMFORCE dual-fan cooling. ZERO FROZR technology completely stops the fans at lower temperatures, so the card is completely silent at idle or under light load — which reviewers confirm. With a TDP of 180 W, a recommended 600 W power supply, and a single 8-pin connector, it’s an undemanding card that fits even into smaller builds.

Eight-gigabyte memory: where’s the compromise

Now for the “but.” This variant has only 8 GB of memory on a 128-bit bus, and that’s been the most debated weakness of the 5060 Ti for a long time. In many modern games, 8 GB is no longer enough — at the highest details, high texture resolution, or in 4K, the memory can fill up, leading to drops in fluidity and the need to lower settings. Another factor is that the card communicates with the system only via PCIe 5.0 x8, which is half the number of lanes, and this can further manifest on older motherboards with PCIe 4.0.

There is also a 16GB version, which largely addresses these concerns and gives the card a longer lifespan. However, it costs several thousand more, putting it in a completely different price league and diminishing the appeal of this promotional offer. It’s a classic choice: save now, or pay extra for peace of mind in the future.

So, for whom does the 8GB version for 7,990 CZK make sense? If you primarily play in Full HD or QHD, don’t necessarily demand the highest details, and want the cheapest way to jump onto the latest generation with DLSS 4 support, it’s a reasonable purchase — especially now with a game bundle worth almost 1,500 CZK. If you’re aiming for 4K or want a card that will last for years without compromises, you’d better pay extra for a 5070 or a competing 9070/9070 XT from AMD.
