Operator O2 has expanded its portfolio of prepaid cards with the new Go Junior, which is primarily aimed at children with their first mobile phone. The card offers 200 minutes of calls and 2 GB of data for a monthly top-up of 199 CZK, with parents having a complete overview of usage and expenses thanks to the Moje O2 application.

Specific parameters of the new card

Go Junior offers, for a monthly top-up of 199 CZK, a package containing 200 minutes for calls to all Czech networks and 2 GB of mobile data. SMS messages cost 1.90 CZK per message. O2 intentionally set a smaller data volume because, according to the operator’s surveys, children do not need large data packages and parents prefer the ability to control their access to the internet.

An interesting feature is the automatic suspension of data usage after it is exhausted. This means no automatic renewal or charging of additional fees will occur – parents must manually top up the credit at their discretion.

Full control in parents’ hands

Card management is exclusively done via the Moje O2 application, where parents can see current minute and data consumption, call history, and top up credit at any time. The application allows setting notifications when credit is exhausted directly from the child’s phone. Topping up also works via the website dobijeni.o2.cz or by standard methods in stores.

Starting bonus of 300 crowns

O2 adds an introductory bonus to the card – upon the first top-up of at least 300 CZK, customers will receive an additional 300 CZK for free. The bonus credit is used preferentially, so the second month of use will effectively be free. The standard topped-up credit will only start to be used after the bonus is exhausted.

Availability and activation

The Go Junior card can be ordered on the O2 website, in the Moje O2 application, or in the operator’s brick-and-mortar stores. Along with the card, O2 offers educational support through the O2 Chytrá škola portal, which advises on setting up a child’s first phone, parental control, and safe online behavior for children.
