On Monday, August 4, the operator O2 faced a widespread service outage, which affected approximately a third of all customers across the Czech Republic. Problems with voice and data services lasted several hours in the morning before being fully resolved before noon.

An apology in the form of 300 CZK for everyone

As compensation for the inconvenience, O2 has prepared a voucher worth 300 CZK for all its mobile service customers. It is important that every customer will truly receive the money – regardless of whether they were directly affected by the outage or not.

“We regret that some of our customers were unable to make calls and use data on Monday morning as they are used to. As an apology, we are therefore giving everyone a voucher worth 300 CZK for the purchase of a mobile phone or any accessory in O2 Stores or in our e-shop,” the operator stated in an official announcement.

How to get your 300 CZK?

You can find the discount code directly in the Moje O2 app. The voucher can be used for purchasing a mobile phone or any accessory both in physical O2 Stores and in the operator’s online e-shop.

• Valid until Sunday, August 17, 2025
• Can be combined with other discount codes
• Usable for phones and accessories
• Available to all customers with mobile services

What caused the service outage?

The main cause of Monday’s degraded availability of O2 mobile services was a software error in the central part of the operator’s network. O2 stated this today in a statement for ČTK.

All services were restored before noon on the same day and are currently functioning without any restrictions.
