After the recent minor updates, Samsung phones could once again see a significant software transformation. According to fresh leaks, One UI 10 is expected to bring truly significant changes, not just minor cosmetic improvements. In practice, this could mean a phone with which you can handle everyday tasks without constantly switching between applications.

One UI 10 reportedly focuses on more convenient control

The most details so far have come from an unnamed informant, cited by the NokiaPowerUser website. According to him, Samsung is not just preparing a new look, but a change in the entire philosophy of control. The well-known tipster Ice Universe partly echoes this, having written that the tenth version will bring significant changes unlike anything seen before.

The overhaul is based on three pillars. The first is a shift away from closed applications: instead of jumping between calendar, maps, and messages for one task, the system is designed to compile the necessary information into a single overview. This resembles the Now Nudge feature, but on a significantly larger scale. The second goal is to reduce unnecessary taps, hidden menus, and dead ends. The third pillar concerns the smoother handover of ongoing work between phone, tablet, and watch.

Artificial intelligence might come with a price tag

The computational power for AI comes at a cost, and Samsung is reportedly looking for ways to monetize it. The source therefore speaks of two tiers: basic features for everyday use are expected to remain free, while more demanding connections to third-party services and advanced tools could end up behind a subscription paywall. Samsung has not confirmed any of this. The same applies to speculation that the overlay might be renamed to Galaxy OS.

When will One UI 10 arrive?

The tenth version will likely be based on Android 18. SamMobile server states that it will debut in summer 2027 with the Galaxy Z Fold9 and Z Flip9 foldables, just as One UI 9 arrived with the Fold8 this year. The informant is more cautious: Samsung might not manage such a large overhaul, and the official launch leans more towards the Galaxy S28 series, meaning early 2028. However, developer test versions are expected to circulate long before that.

You don’t have to wait to buy a new phone because of One UI 10. According to the same source, the new features should also come to current flagship Galaxy S series models and Galaxy Z foldables.

Would One UI 10 appeal to you, even if some AI features were paid?
