One UI 8 is gradually coming to another Samsung flagship series. Do you own one of the models?

Samsung continues its pace of One UI 8 distribution, and this time the two-year-old flagship series Galaxy S23, including the FE model, has received it. The stable version of the overlay built on Android 16 was initially only available to beta program members, but is now reaching regular users as well. However, it is currently regionally limited to South Korea. This was pointed out by informant Tarun Vats.

Beta Testers Get Priority Access

Samsung first started distributing firmware labeled EYI7 to users involved in the One UI 8 beta program. They are downloading a compact package of 469 MB, which, in addition to the final system version, also includes September security patches. For regular users upgrading directly from the stable One UI 7, the update will be significantly larger – expect approximately 3 GB of data.

Beta testers in Korea can download the update via Settings > Software update > Download and install. Samsung is expected to expand availability to beta testers in other countries later today.

What One UI 8 Brings to Galaxy S23

The main highlight of the new version is the Now Bar – an interactive widget on the lock screen that displays live activities similar to Dynamic Island on iPhones. Here you can see a timer, navigation, music player, or sports results. Samsung has extended support for Now Bar to third-party applications, so its use will gradually grow.

Visual changes have affected several system applications. The File Manager has received a more modern design with better category organization. Improved Quick Share is now available directly from quick settings and allows file reception even with the sharing screen open. The Samsung Internet browser offers an optimized menu with customization options according to your preferences.

Galaxy S23 also benefits from all Android 16 enhancements, including improved memory management, faster animations, and better battery optimization. The camera receives a new gesture – swiping down anywhere in the preview area will display a quick settings panel.

When Will One UI 8 Arrive in the Czech Republic?

The release of European system versions typically follows one to two weeks after the initial launch in Korea, so your Galaxy S23 series phone will almost certainly not receive the update by the end of the current month.

Samsung is maintaining an impressive pace – over the past two weeks, it has gradually released One UI 8 for Galaxy S25, Z Fold 6, Z Flip 6, the S24 series, and now also the S23.
